Meter Mechanic Meter Support Technician Department: Hours p/Week: 40-50 hrs

Position Summary: Work within the framework of established polices, practices and procedures under direct supervision. Directly support field service crews regarding the installation, maintenance and repair of gas meters. Essential Job functions:
Keep all mechanics and technicians stocked with all necessary supplies and items required to perform any task associated with the scope of the program. Collect and organize completed paperwork and compile information to the field manager. Coordinate and or perform monthly inspections on all calibrated Gas Measuring equipment. Adhere to safety standards as defined by PPS’s safety standards and procedures. Polite and Professional interactions with public. Adhere to PPS dress code and Personal Protective Equipment Polices.
Position Qualifications:
Effective Communication skills. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to act with integrity and respect of personal or public property. Ability to work in all types of weather. Ability to report to jobsite daily and travel to a new location upon request at any time throughout local PPS service territories. Ability to drive between 5 and 200 miles (approximately) daily in a responsible manner.
Prerequisites:
Must complete and pass a pre‐employment drug screen. Valid Driver’s License. Ability to lift and or move up to 90 pounds Ability to stand, sit, climb, balance, stop, crouch and crawl.
