CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY FOR OUR VETERANS Major trucking companies have a serious shortage of qualified entry level drivers. This shortage is increasing every quarter and is the result of changes in the US economy. The Primary reasons for this are:o Many manufacturing jobs have been off-shored; consequently the US imports more consumer products, which need to be shipped around the country and delivered by truck. o Technology in respect of the logistics supply chain. Just in Time Delivery. More trucks are need to serves as warehousing for our flat national supply chain. o Driver Retirement. Experienced drivers are retiring and new drivers are needed to replace them. The number of unemployed Veterans in the US continues to grow and with the economy still depressed, the opportunities for employment remain limited. o Many of these Veterans would make ideal candidates for these available positions in the transportation industry. CNN, in a report on October 7th 2011, quotes some 400,000 qualified drivers will be required in the next few years. Our Veterans through these truck driving opportunities can expect a first year’s income to be between, $35,000 and $40,000. Typically increasing to over $50,000 in their second year of employment.

Through these high paying jobs Veterans can access long term career development options such as:o A driver trainer for new drivers coming in the industry. o An owner operator, giving the Veteran the opportunity to have his own business under the large umbrella of major carrier. o An option to go into the carrier’s terminal and work in logistics, recruitment, safety, and administration. These employers offer many different benefits including health care and retirement benefits. Our Veterans now have a greater ability to take advantage of these career opportunities because on the 1st of October the rules governing their educational benefits through the VA changed, enabling them to use them for vocational training. Traditionally the GI Bill educational programs were geared for 2 and 4 year degrees, which in today’s economy is not guarantee of gainful employment. Effective 10/1/11 eligible veterans can use their educational benefits at The CDL School to obtain the training and certification required to work in the transportation industry. Veterans will earn their certification and their CDL by completing our certified training program. o The CDL School’s heritage dates back to 1963, in Albany, NY. o The CDL School is nationally recognized as a high quality full service commercial driving school. o The CDL School is licensed and approved by the appropriate state licensing agencies, the DMV, the Department of Education as well as being an approved school with the Veterans Administration.

o The CDL School operates Regional Training and Recruitment facilities in:  Miami and West Palm Beach in Florida. The Commercial Driver’s License School, Inc. www.cdlschool.com 1-800-753-4972

 Albany and New York City in New York.  With Birmingham, Alabama in development. For a Veteran to consider and take advantage of this opportunity, they need to do the following:o They will attend one of our frequent live or online orientations when we explain fully the industry and the career opportunity. o They will then schedule an interview with one of our admissions advisors, either online or in person. o They must complete an application package and have this available for the interview. o Once accepted by our admissions panel, they will attend a second inperson or online meeting to complete the enrollment and matriculation process if they chose to use them at our school The demand for drivers, combined with the need for employment by many of our veterans and now the availability of educational benefits to gain the qualifications makes for an exciting dynamic. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Contact Information:Alan Loveder Business Development Director Email: alan@cdlschool.com Tel: 954 300 2350
