Hotel & Cabanas Tampa WTR Pool & Grill

The Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas occupies the footprint of the former Bay Harbor Hotel, and

that is where the similarity ends. The new Godfrey has been reimagined into a chic but casual and inviting 276 room hotel located in Tampa’s Rocky Point neighborhood. Situated right on the water, guests have a view of either Tampa Bay or the city skyline. The rooms have private balconies or patios, and all the amenities you have come to expect from a stylish hotel — free Wi-Fi, room service, flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers and mini-refrigerators.

The hotel’s WTR Pool area has fast become the place to be, with luxurious daybeds, chaise lounges and handcrafted cocktails. You can go a step further into indulgence with private cabanas with TVs and refrigerators. The WTR Grill is not the usual dull pool snack bar by any means. It is an excellent restaurant under the helm of Chef Joe Garcia, who has created some very tasty dishes with healthy, smaller portions. Some popular dishes are the Charred Caesar Salad with Parmesan Reggiano, crostini, anchovies, and house Caesar Dressing; the Proscuitto & Arugula Flatbread with fig and whipped goat cheese; and Seared Scallops with grilled Swiss chard and polenta cake topped with pan seared fresh diver scallops, finished with white wine Beurre Blanc. There’s always room for some dessert, and I would suggest the Beignet Bites as a real treat.

Weekend brunches and pool parties with DJs and live bands solidify the Godfrey as a great destination for the perfect get-away!
