TENS is short for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. TENS Units generate electrical impulses that are sent through electrodes placed over nerve centers. EMS is short for Electronic Muscle Stimulator. This type of stimulation is characterized by a low volt stimulation targeted to stimulate motor nerves to cause a muscle contraction.
