Not only is it uncomfortable for the patient, but it also carries the danger of functional loss as a result of muscle atrophy and permanent stiffening of joints due to capsular withering and cartilage degeneration. General features of the Multicast range • Does not emit toxic gases or vapours during application • Perfect for fracture immobilization, static and dynamic splinting, splinting for the burn patients, foot orthotics, post-operative splinting • X-ray translucent • After application, it transforms into a hard splint that does not need reinforcing • Indefinite shelf life: no waste • Follows the exact contours of the treated surface • Does not stick to body hair • Lightweight splinting • Inexpensive - great prices available The patented velvet like surface provides perfect conformity and comfort. Ease-of-use and exceptional ventilation properties have made Multicast a favourite among medical professionals. Multicast Standard will not stick to itself in hot water. Multicast (Standard) is a low temperature thermoplastic material, based mainly on polycaprolactone and polyurethane. Multicast Standard is externally covered with a 0.6mm foam layer. The thermoplastic product has a “crafty” memory, creating a constant molecular inhibition during processing and hardening. After heating, the material finds its own way through the force of the earth’s natural gravitational pull. the material does not shrink. The foam coating creates a minute layer of air between the patient’s skin and the thermoplastic, reducing the posibility of skin chafing.
