t makes sense for intercity trains to offer enhanced accessibility - trains are a good travel option that can provide a more independent travel experience for more people. Especially as some people may be excluded from using other types of transport due to cost or size and weight restrictions on mobility aids / devices.

Accessibility, inclusive design and human factors principles were key drivers of the design of the new fleet of intercity trains being delivered by Transport for NSW. It was rewarding to be part of a project team willing to innovate through consultation and investigation of equivalent access design solutions.
