1 The Book of Revelation Explained The Book of Revelation attempts to depict the end of the world in ways that one could say to be scary. When reading through this book, one is struck by the manner in which the end of the world is portrayed. Readers not only find the depictions of the end of the world to be bizarre and confusing, but they have also been struck by the violence that is supposed to happen when the world ends. Even so, despite of the violence and scary depictions, it is possible for one to argue that this book contains important insights into how it will be when Jesus returns.

2 The book of Revelation is important for two main reasons. Firstly, it contains crucial information about the certain actions of the churches. The churches are praised for their good deeds and receive guidance on how best they can improve their behaviour in order to be in alignment with God’s teachings (BibleProject, 2017). By reading these sections, Christians will be able to adjust their behaviour. Secondly, the book of Revelation contains information regarding the signs that will show that the end of the world is imminent. If Christians pay attention to these signs, then they will be able to know what they need to look out for. Ultimately, the fact that the book of Revelation is scary should work to encourage Christians as opposed to discouraging them (BibleProject, 2017). Through reading this book, one is able to get the tools that they will need to navigate the world. Additionally, they will be able to understand that one can interpret the book of Revelations as a story that depicts the battle between good and evil. In addition to this, one could be encouraged by the fact that, in the end, good triumphs over evil. It is also worth considering that the book was initially written to encourage Christians who were enduring persecution at the hands of the Roman empire. When all of these things are taken into mind, then the book of Revelation loses some of its dark aspects.
