1 The Impact of COVID on Employment Introduction 

The COVID-19 pandemic affected the livelihood of over 78% of people globally (Fana et al., 2020).

Unfortunately, the economic impact of COVID-19, particularly employment, has not been extensively investigated.

The pandemic is a modern catastrophe that has increased the risk of poverty across societies.

2 Aim 

Today, I will reveal how COVID-19 has disrupted the workplace, led to the loss of thousands of jobs, and contributed to a 13% decline in employment (Tušl et al., 2021).

My experience with this topic is that I have previously investigated how social, health, and political factors affect the economy and people’s livelihoods.

This speech is relevant to the audience since the COVID-19 pandemic affected everyone in different ways.

By the end of this speech, the audience will appreciate the need to create robust structures to cushion organizations and people from economic catastrophes.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the modern workplace tremendously.

It has led to the loss of jobs and a drop in employment opportunities (Al-Fadly, 2020).

 Part ii) COVID-19 has led to mental health problems among employees 

Further, COVID-19 has contributed to mental health problems like anxiety and employee stress (Tušl et al., 2021).

Many employees are anxious about job loss due to the changing economic dynamics of their organizations.

 Part iii) Health official has proposed strict social rules to curb COVID-19 

Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the private life of employees.

Employees have to adhere to strict social rules that hinder economic progress.

The social rules impede employee interpersonal interactions (Fana et al., 2020).

Conclusion 

The COVID-19 pandemic negatively affected the economic structures of the economy, including employment.

It has increased mental health challenges such as depression among employees.

Also, it disrupted employment frameworks, leading to the loss of jobs and a drop in new employment.

New social regulations have impacted interpersonal interactions among employees at the workplace.
