IN 2022, ACE ENDICO BROKE IT’S OWN RECORD FOR SALES AND PIECES SOLD.

January 2023 sales have already surpassed January 2022 sales by 30%

From Matt Hertzberg Vice President of Operations

I would like to give special recognition to my team, and a big THANK YOU to the OPERATIONS employees for all of their hard work and dedication in 2022. Despite labor shortages, space constraints, and many other obstacles, we were able to overcome these challenges and maintain our mission to deliver the customer a perfect order. In May 2022 we acquired Monelli Fine Foods, in August 2022 we acquired Catanzaro Quality Meats, and in September 2022 we started Mass Buying Group. In 2022 we picked and delivered 282,356 stops, 12,583,457 cases, and traveled over 5,886,566 miles, on 29,787 routes which were all significant increases from previous years. Also a special thank you to all of our Operations Management for the long hours, hard work, and perseverance. Anil Seebarran, president of A Wash Corp, the company in charge of keeping our fleet clean, shared some kind words with Rich Viebrock about his opportunity to work with Ace Endico

I.T.UPDATE! PHISHINGAWARENESS!

A Message from Jason Graca:

I want to make you aware of a new type of phishing attempt that has been made and will probably be made on more people. If you look at the screenshot that I attached, you will see that someone received a text message on their personal cell phone. In this case, the individual was claiming to be Bill Endico.

To take things a step further, it is possible that the scammer could have even spoofed (imitated) Bill’s phone number. In that case, it would be possible for a text like this to look like it came from Bill.

AS

Always assume that the message is fake 1

2. Call the user (in this case Bill) and ask them if they sent you the message

3. Check with your friendly neighborhood IT person

4. Verify that the phone number that texted/called you is correct

5. NEVER under any circumstance respond (until you have verified that it is legitimate)

6. Report the message as spam and block the phone number

If you have any questions or concerns contact Jason Graca!

Sales

As of Jan 1, 2023, all customer statements are being issued electronically. Please confirm with the assigned credit coordinator that your customer’s correct email address is on file. Please encourage your customers to switch to ACH payments. Contact Accounts Receivable with any questions.

It was just another typical Tuesday at the Ace Endico Marketplace. The phone was ringing off the hook, a rush of impatient customers hurrying in and out, marketplace associates checking out customers as if it were an Olympic sport. New team members hustle in and out of the warehouse to pick up orders, learning as they go, meanwhile the parking lot is backed up with customers’ cars, trucks, and vans as associates unload U-boats into their vehicles.

As I said, a typical Tuesday.

The phone rings again. One of our long-time associates at the store, answers the phone, “Ace Endico Marketplace, how can I help you?”

“This is Pablo from The Drunken Chef I would like to place an order for the first time ”

As the typical Tuesday tornado swarms around him, said associate sat patiently on the phone, entering a brand-new customer into the system and taking a $2,000 order from Pablo. Then Pablo says, “I’d like to order for my four other restaurants as well.” He takes the additional orders, has his fellow associates pick the orders from the warehouse, then reviews each order with Pablo. It was in no time that Pablo was loaded with his orders and Ace’s newest customer was off.

The accounts that were set up on that typical Tuesday, now average about $10,000 per week in sales. All because the phone was answered regardless of how busy it was, the time to listen and understand someone’s needs were taken while maintaining patience as he worked through the challenges of a new customer placing an order.

Stories only happen like this when you have employees as we do in our marketplace. Winning customers like Pablo, while the store overcomes challenges, is a big victory.

Great job to our Marketplace staff.

NEW YORK SCHOOL NUTRITION ASSOCIATION LONG ISLAND CO-OP FOOD SHOW

Matt Wasserman, Darlene Wasserman, and Julie Noreika represented our Bid team at the New York School Nutrition Association Long Island Co-Op Food Show this November. Our customers from the Long Island Co-Op attended as well as many of our vendors. The team spoke with other school districts in the NY area who attended for potential new business.

Our team was able to provide additional information on items that are not on the bid, and sign up customers to the new Pepper online ordering system. Customers who currently use the Pepper online ordering system love it and all had positive feedback.

All the customers they spoke with expressed their appreciation of Ace's customer service and availability of services.
