I
n this issue, I bring you none other than the highly sought after Cicciuzzo Gausman, also know as Mr. G. Like most Second Life photographers, I first discovered Mr. G on Flickr. However, what’s different about Mr. G is his focus and consistency in presenting us with black-andwhite photography rather than one with elaborate background we frequently see. Saying that doesn’t sound as fun as actually seeing it, but I double-dog dare you to go look at his Flickr stream and prove me wrong. Even though he mostly uses black-andwhite, his models seem to pop into reality from the crisp imagery. Another thing I noticed about his works is the masterful way which he crops his pictures, they are done to perfection in my opinion.

Mr. G is a 38 year old Italian and beside being a Second Life photographer he is also a musician. He enjoys going to concerts in SecondLife and listening to the talent that exist in this virtual world. So without further ado, let’s get to know Mr. G. So what got you started in SL photography? The main reason was because of my vendors, Riviera Couture is my Brand. Which SL photographers have inspired you when you first started? Or continue to inspire you today? Gabrielle Sinatra is one of the photographers that really intrigued me since the beginning. Among the others, Stephen Venkman, Seb Ulysses, Senna Coronet; these are the people I still enjoy to follow after all this time. Do you specialize in a certain type of SL photography, for example, sceneries, builds, avatar profiles, weddings, et cetera? I am intrigued by the black-and-white lately. It allows me to play “easily” with lights and shadows; It’s kind of a new technique I’m developing. I have always refused to have scenarios or backgrounds in my pictures, I prefer to focus only on my models. Have you had any SL Photography achievements you are particularly proud of? Well, yes. I’ve been working with Deja Vu Magazine for 2 years now which I considered one of the better made magazines in SL in my humble opinion; a very good “showcase” for me, and my experience having to deal with the most appreciated SL designers, since my choice at the time was to use them as models. DejaVu-intl.com Mr. G was also selected as “Vain Inc. Artist of the Month”. (September 2009 issue). issuu.com/vaininc./docs/vaininc.issue25
Do you have any suggestions or tips for those of us who are just starting out as a SL photographer and those who want to become one? Just believe in what you do. There is a time for everything… and mostly… keep working, working and working… Where can we go to view some of your works? On my Flickr and soon… I hope… to be done with my website www.flickr.com/photos/cicciuzzo_gausman/
Where would you direct anyone who would be interested in having you to do some work for them? Do you have a business card or a notecard that they can get? If so, how? They can just send me an IM in world, or through my email. cicciuzzo.gausman@gmail.com
What are some of the things you wish your clients would prepare ahead of time before a photo shoot with you? I’d say they better read carefully the picks tabs in my SL profile first. There’s a very “amusing” pick that kind of explain my philosophy, maybe it’s a little bit rude, but I’ve been meeting every kind of people in my SL history, so it is just there to avoid us wasting each other’s time, once they get into my studio they would have my exclusive patient, caring and attention. Anything else you would like to add or share with your fans about your works? Well, how could I say no to this opportunity. People can always check my main store—Riviera Couture and MrG Poses— out in SwayLand and IM me in world for any question for that matter.
