We are pleased to have the support from Queensland Airports Limited, Australia’s leading regional airport operator with significant investment in airports and servicing regional Queensland and northern New South Wales in hosting this event. Over the two-day conference, you will hear from top airport and industry experts, who will share their expertise and knowledge through dynamic presentations and interactive panel discussions. We will begin the annual conference with a new segment called “Aviation Talks” on April 18 where airports will take centre stage and share their latest development, followed by a Welcome Reception in the evening. On the second day, April 19, Mike Mrdak, Secretary of the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Australian will deliver a special address which will be followed by three very distinct panels addressing topics relevant to the industry. The day will close with the Gala dinner and ASQ Awards Ceremony. On April 20, discussion and presentations will be dedicated to four technical subjects namely safety, security, environment and facilitation. With over four hundred aviation professionals expected to attend, this event will be the ideal meeting place for fostering new contacts, arranging business get-togethers and re-uniting with old friends. ACI/IATA Smart Security Survey on Innovation in Aviation Security The joint ACI/IATA Smart Security project continues to look for inventive solutions that will help define the next generation of passenger screening, and has partnered with several airports to carry out trials and research. However, we are aware that there are many great ideas and improvements that have been made globally and various tests and trials that our airport members have undertaken. The Smart Security team has, therefore, developed a short survey and would like to invite airport members to provide information in relation to the innovative practices and trials in aviation security at their airports. Respondents may fill in as many surveys as you need to if you have more than one trial or solution that you would like to share eg. the use of a new technology such as centralized image processing, body scanners, biometrics or CT equipment, or a new way of managing checkpoint staff, informing passengers or helping passengers divest etc..
