Regional Director Presented at World Aviation Hub Conference As part of the outreach to members, the Regional Director attended the World Aviation Hub Conference organized by Incheon Airport from 29-30 June 2016.

Second Vice President PS Nair

The main theme of the event was on hub airport air connectivity and network development. The Regional Director was invited to speak at the opening alongside ICAO and IATA. In commenting on the airport capacity issue, she said, “In less than two decades, some 45% of global traffic is forecast to be coming from emerging markets but many of these countries lack the funding or simply the permission to grow. If these countries are to fully realize aviation’s potential as a driver of economic and social progress, the right investments in infrastructure, capacity building on safety, security and efficiency need to be made.”

Secretary Treasurer Emmanuel Menanteau

The theme of her presentation was on “The State of the Industry” as she highlighted the traffic trend of the major global hubs and airport economics – its past, present and future, followed by discussion on challenges facing the airport industry. >> Back to Top

Welcoming New Staff Onboard

Immediate Past President

Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad Abdul Majid

The ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Office is pleased to welcome three new staff joining the office in July, they are Hidenori Fukuda, Jacqueline Ng and Gary Leung. (Photo above from left to right) Hidenori Fukuda joined the Regional Office as a secondee from Narita International Airport Corporation, Japan. “It is a great honour to be able to work in the ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Office. Asia-Pacific is a vast region with diverse cultures and rapid aviation development, being able to work in one of the most exciting aviation markets in the world will be a valuable opportunity and challenge for me. I have enjoyed many wonderful experiences living abroad in my childhood in three different countries and I always enjoy interacting with people with different cultural backgrounds. It is another wonderful experience for me being able to work in ACI for the next two years. This opportunity will allow me to represent my home airport and contribute to ACI and its members. I look forward to meeting with the aviation professionals around the world while working in ACI.” Jacqueline Ng is our newly joined Assistant Manager, Events and Communications. “I have developed a strong interest in event management and newsletters production and I am glad to be part of the team here at ACI Asia-Pacific. I love traveling and my wanderlust brings me to the airport. One of my greatest travelling experiences was my solo trip to Japan. Though I could not understand Japanese, it was still a rewarding experience to me to know more about myself and to be fascinated by the diversity in cultures. I look forward to contributing to the success of the organization and ACI members. Hope to see you all in the upcoming events!” Gary Leung joined the Regional Office as the Assistant Manager, Technical and Industry Affairs and his main focus is on aviation security. Gary has developed a strong interest in the aviation industry since graduation and he is excited to join ACI. “Before joining ACI, I worked for the Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO) where I have gained a lot of technical knowledge of the aviation industry. I am glad to join the ACI family where I will be able to have many exposures to the international aviation community. I look forward to meeting with other colleagues in future events and meetings, eg. in my upcoming first trip to Colombo, Sri Lanka, participating the ICAO Regional Aviation Security Coordination Forum in August.”
