The ACIS Educational Tours 2015-2016 Catalog

Page 1

THE BAROQUE PERIOD IN ROME gave us many treasures and quite a few extraordinary artists. Their work is scattered throughout the streets, in the beautiful churches, and in Bernini’s Doric columns, which define the perimeter of St Peter’s. But when I think of Rome, I think of the fountains in the piazzas — all connected by ancient aqueducts from another period, ornate and splendid, decorating odd corners of the city. They come to life on cold winter evenings and provide cool spray on those hot Roman days in July. They offer tourists a place to gather or toss a coin to seal an ancient tradition. Long after midnight, when the piazzas are empty, the fountains provide the only sound and movement amidst the quiet. I love to imagine what has passed before them and what is yet to come. Travel is a wonder. See you out there somewhere!

Peter Jones, ACIS President

This is more than educational travel — this is

Exceptional Travel At ACIS, we’re passionate about the power of travel to change students’ lives—to open their eyes, spark their imaginations, and build their independence. We also know that the best travel experiences are the ones where you feel confident, knowing every detail has been planned with care. If you’re looking for a run-of-the-mill sightseeing tour, ACIS isn’t it. But if you’re looking for exceptional service and support, hands-on learning, and endless opportunities for those life-changing, “wow” moments, look no further.

“ACIS is, hands down, the best of the best. I wouldn’t trust my students to anyone else.” Jim Minor, Group Leader, Florida

What’s the best part of the ACIS experience?

So-called “small” details can make the difference between an okay trip and a knock-your-socksoff adventure. At ACIS we get it right—from our exceptional tour managers right down to the hotels and meals we choose—so you get the experience of a lifetime.

YOUR PARTNER

from start to finish Our U.S.-based International Program Consultants will help you choose, customize and plan the perfect tour. While you’re on your trip, our overseas teams are ready to help at a moment’s notice.

TOUR MANAGERS you’ll never forget

The tour manager that accompanies your trip is your partner in education—knowledgeable, helpful and often one of the highlights of the experience.

HOTELS

To hear fellow teachers talk about the ACIS difference, watch our video at www.acis.com/teachers 2

in the middle of it all We’d never waste your time with long bus rides to and from cut-rate hotels. With ACIS you’ll stay in 3- or 4-star hotels just minutes from the sights.

It’s Everything! REAL FOOD not fast food

We choose quality restaurants where you can enjoy authentic meals—not bland, cafeteria-style imitations. Bon appetit!

OFF-THE-BEATEN-PATH

The ACIS

service guarantee We’re sure you’ll love your trip with ACIS. But if for any reason you don’t think it rates “good” or “excellent,” we’ll invite you as our guest to our next Global Conference in London. We’ll also give you a $1,000 scholarship for your next ACIS tour.

experiences

Will your group go behind the scenes at an Italian gelato factory? Perform in a West End theater workshop? Learn the flamenco? The cultural connections included on every ACIS trip are the ultimate in experiential learning.

MORE INCLUSIONS

means less out of pocket With ACIS you’ll know in advance exactly which meals, attractions and excursions are included in the price of your trip. And there are lots of them!

3

The itineraries are balanced, logical and doable. They are also flexible enough to meet my students’ and my needs.

Joseph Gehrer, Group Leader, Kansas

“I love working with my program consultant to design custom tours that fit my curriculum. I completely trust her suggestions, and my trips always exceed my expectations!”

Elaine Moss, Group Leader, New York
