Specify it Right! – Materials for Corrosion Resistant & Hygienic Drainage Applications

ACO Building Drainage has prepared a short seminar presentation discussing some of the issues associated with corrosion resistant and hygienic drainage systems. Certificates are provided for those attending. Who should attend? Architects, consulting engineers, public health engineers, facilities managers, and indeed, anyone involved in the specification and implementation of corrosion resistant and hygienic drainage systems. If you are not involved in this area of activity, then this seminar is not for you. Duration This presentation lasts for approximately 50 minutes with time to ask questions. What next? If you are interested in receiving a seminar presentation, please return the faxback overleaf or email abdinfo@aco.co.uk as soon as possible to reserve your place.

Seminar Content What is stainless steel and why it is used? An overview of stainless steel families and grades. Why stainless steels are corrosion resistant, limitations to corrosion resistance and why the post-fabrication finishing process is so important for assured durability and long life. Selection of seal and gasket materials is also covered. Design layout This section looks at the feasibility of selecting point drainage and/or linear drainage solutions for new and refurbishment projects. Load classes and wheel loads You will find out the effects on installed drainage products subjected to solid and pneumatic tyres and why it is so important to know what type of traffic will be passing over the drainage system. Load class classification will also be explained.

Vital project information check-list The key points the specifier needs to cover to ensure a long and reliable installed product life. Material Selection An overview of austenitic stainless steel is provided and an explanation of Useful References A list of handy references relating to applicable construction industry Standards and advice on stainless steel.
