Can you guesswhat the most exciting job is? I can since it`s my line of work it`s being an ethnologist. Here is the story of my first expedition. It all started when we got off the boat with our packs. Now it was only the three scientist Dr .Grass, his assistant Gottfried Benz, and I Thomas Graf. As we got off the boat we saw many types of transportation water plane, jeep, boat and the way the Witoto natives that were going to take us to the village which was walking so we could learn more about their culture [or way of life. On the way to the village that would be our home for 35 hours the guides showed us some plants and described them but Gottfried the only one of us that knew their language. As Gottfried told us I took extensive notes it was the Bougainvillea flower which is a producer [an organism that makes its own food through photosynthesis which is where pants take light and make food] and is indigenous [or originated] to Brazil and is found in the understory part since it likes to cling to tree`s which is an adaption [or when animals or in this caseplants in the wild must adapting to a situation] and is usually purple but can be pink or white and are usually used for festivals . The next plant they] showed was the Brysonoma tree which is a low tree/large shrub and is indigenous to South America but most of it lives in Peru and Brazil since it`s a tree it lives in the understory, floor, and canopy layer`s. I almost forgot about the layer`s are the floor where hardly any light shines, the understory where large vines and branches are located, the canopy is where most of the tree end up in this layer, the last layer is the emergent layer this layer is for only the tallest tree`s end up and is a habitat [or a place where organisms live] to very many consumer`s [organism that eats other

organisms] and like eagles. When we first got to the village we learned about the set-up and that they used willow tree`s to make the and the set-up was Communal houses, large round or rectangular housesfor many families then we found out about that after we got our tent`s set up we would be joining a later hunting party for dinner. Lucky for us many older teens helped us. While the boy`s put up the tent`s I survey much of the people wore in the village: women are bare -breasted but have cloths towards the bottom made of beaten fig tree bark and so do men also worn with necklaces, and red or white paint. Once we left we saw many animals and I learned more about the climate or the average temperature and weather like 20celsius Climate zone: Tropical Average Rainfall: 80in ; Which can be different if you’re in a different part of the rainforest since it takes up so much area of South America. When we finally ended up in a densely populated area we started shooting some of the arrow`s. After about ten minutes one of the men spotted a spider monkey. He quickly stood up and shot an arrow the man hit the monkey but a cougar which is a large reddish cat was near him and was going to eat him since he was a carnivore [or meat eater] and that was his prey [or food] jumped off a huge limb with his strong legs that he had from adaption since it lived in the understory. The cougar quickly jumped down and stuck his claws through the hunter. Luckily I grabbed the bow and shot an arrow through him. Can you guesswhat happened after that? They started rejoicing that the man was dead. I couldn`t even believe that I hadn`t that I had just killed a cougar and nobody even noticed. As we walked back into village I noticed that the young boy`s were painting a picture of the same man on all our tent`s. Gottfried told us that it was Moma their “creator god. I really didn`t care I just wanted to sleep. Before I went to bed I saw the people trying to hang the man on a smoker as if he was getting smoked to be eaten. When I woke up I found out that they ate the man since I saw many pieces of the body were cut off and worms were eating the man since they`re decomposer`s [or organism`s that eat other dead organisms]. I was totally disgusted. After lunch I took down my tent and packed my bag. Just as we were about to leave the tribe leader gave us a mask and a blow gun to keep. As we walked to the Yanomami tribe I noticed a young Brazilian Tapir and his mom trying to use camouflage [or blend in] with their brown and white stripes as it ate leaves off the floor called foliage since it is an herbivore

[plant eater] and is hunted by predators [or an animal that hunts it] like a puma but could get away with its strongly adapted leg`s. As we walked into the Yanomami tribe many young boy`s surrounded us and gave us flower`s that they obvious used in a wedding. Some of the things I learned early-on was shelter is There is one huge building in the center that can hold about 400 people each family has a shelter that is used cooking addition to the living homes ,products from the rainforest are spices fruits, vegetables, meats, pets, cloths, and weapons, culture is a strong family and faith type of culture, food is berries, plants, spider monkeys howler monkey and Tapir , clothes are small garments around waist little shirts, beliefs are that all nature and people are one, and traditions are bilateral marriages, very strict at birth marriages, a hunter doesn't eat his own meat . Later that day I learned that many companies had begun cutting down trees and that a whole village was driven and were now nomadic [or drifting from place to place without a true home] and that many people were dying off and soon the whole tribe would be dead. I told the people I may be able help with conservation [or trying to save the rainforest]. I told the people to lead me to the site. When we arrived at the site I started speaking to the woodcutters about how the forest covers lot`s of the North , South, and West hemispheres and that the latitude & longitude range of 5n, 13s, 75e, 50w, also that 9 countries contain parts of the rain forest are Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Suriname, Guyana and that none of that will matter becausewe are just killing the rain forest another thing is humans affect the environment by building roads, exchanging goods an d ideas but deforestation will end all these in a heartbeat if we don`t find another solution Becausedeforestation is a processwhere humans cut down trees like the Brysonomia tree lumber and becauseof this many animals may lose their habitat becauseof deforestation but conservation is a method is for trying to save many habitats. Ecotourism this can be good or bad it`s good becauseit can be eco-friendly but if you leave trash it can be bad and all the bird lover`s want to share us and give back. It gives most of Earths oxygen and gives us plants that help with leukemia it decreasesthe number of children that die each year. The rainforest once covered 14 %the land now it covers 6 %and will probably seep to 3 %percent in a couple years. So what will happen to you when the trees are

gone, 80%oxygen is gone along with the most of the animals? If we start now hopefully in the future we won`t have to think these thoughts at all. So will you help save the rainforest and all the organisms [or all living things]?
