Whether you’re into oceanside house, acoustic sessions or Caribbean rock, Cayman is home to a dynamic music scene that celebrates home-grown artists as well as renowned visiting musicians. You can’t beat live music, and there’s nothing quite like live music by the Caribbean Sea. Due to Cayman’s laws, live music is not permitted on Sundays.

MONDAY

Wyndham Reef Resort has live music by Musical Crew from 6pm-9pm. Tortuga (The Westin) hosts a live musician from

TUESDAY

The Bird hosts Jam Night evenings every week, with live music from local musicians. Coccoloba has chilled, acoustic music during their tacos and tequila night. The Wharf runs free salsa lessons with great music every week from 9.30pm.

WEDNESDAY

Ms. Piper’s releases a set list at the start of each month to showcase their live music. Wednesday is usually a staple, but check their schedule to be sure. 6.30pm-9.30pm. La Casita presents Mariachi y Margarita Miercoles in East End on the first Wednesday of each month from 7pm-8pm. Pane & Pasta’s harpist extraordinaire serenades tables from 6.30pm-9.30pm. THURSDAY

Next Door hosts their live jazz ensemble with speakeasy vibes from 8.30pm-11pm. Tortuga (The Westin) has live music on the beachfront from 6pm-8pm. (SEE PAGE 81) Union Grill & Bar holds their Dinner Jazz Night every Thursday, 7pm-9pm. (SEE PAGE 94) Pane & Pasta’s harpist returns to serenade tables with live music from 6.30pm-9.30pm.

FRIDAY

Anchor & Den (Marriott Beach Resort) has a live DJ every Friday for their Rockin’ Ramen Night, 7pm-10pm. (SEE PAGES 70-71) Bàcaro hosts a different live musician every Friday night, 7pm-10pm. (SEE PAGE 77) Sandbar hosts Sunset Sessions on the waterfront 5pm-7.30pm and a DJ 9pm-close. Silver Palm Lounge (The Ritz-Carlton) hosts a different artist each week from 7pm. Tortuga (The Westin) offers live acoustic sounds on the beachfront 6pm-9pm, and also indoors at the Catboat Bar, 7pm-10pm. (SEE PAGE 81) The Wharf thrills its guests on the last Friday of every month when they let loose on ‘Boogie Nights’, featuring 70s, 80s and 90s classics, 9.30pm-1.30am.

SATURDAY

Abacus hosts live contemporary Caribbean sounds on the Paseo in Camana Bay 7.30pm-

10.30pm. (SEE PAGE 93) Kaibo hosts Saturday Sessions, when a live DJ and saxophonist perform on the beachfront from 1pm-3pm. Ms. Piper’s hosts an acoustic artist most Saturday nights from 6.30pm-9.30pm. Check their schedule for the month’s set list. Next Door hosts jazz performer and saxophonist Denys Carbó with the band Jazz-En-Trance, 8pm-11pm. Sandbar hosts Live Saturdays, featuring your favourite local bands, 8pm-10pm. Silver Palm Lounge (The Ritz-Carlton) on Seven Mile Beach has live music every week, from 7pm. Tortuga (The Westin) has acoustic beach vibes outdoors 5pm-8pm, and then live lobby music in the Catboat Bar 7pm-10pm.
