Field Inspection of Coaches All of the coaches were inspected at the coach yards in Sacramento between Januar.y 21 and Januar.y 29, 1955, with interior and exterior inspection of each coacb, and operating inspection of a11 coaches in operation.
Chassis
inspection was made of 88% of all coaches covering a representative number in each group.
Test driving was made on a substantial number of coaches.
A
sample inspection form is included in the Appendix. Reproduction Cost New of Coaches The same model coa ches as those being appraised are not now being manufactured; however, the differences between the models currently manu足 factured and those in question are generally minore
Current costs (exclusive
of tires) were obtained from General Motors Corporation for equipment as nearly
comparable as possible.
The reproduction cost new was then
calculated as fo11ows: Line No. 1
