INTRODUCTION CREW AWARDS 2020

he Crew Awards by ACREW is the only international, impartial awards programme to recognise the excellence in superyacht crew. The Awards will be both a personal achievement and an industry-wide recognition of professional excellence. The Crew Awards ceremony celebrates superyacht crew with 450 nominations in 20 award categories, 45,000 online votes leading to 59 finalists representing 37 superyachts and 10 crew entrepreneurs. The event will take place on the 28th November in Barcelona, World Trade Centre. The whole event will be broadcast live on ACREWâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Facebook and YouTube page for the world to watch. ACREW will host the ceremony in the Auditorium of the World Center which is well equipped with the technology required for a live-streamed event.

ue to COVID-19, the Crew Awards was consequently postponed, and we decided to split the Crew Awards into two events so that we can best deliver on both the ceremony and the social/party aspect. On the 24th of April 2021 ACREW will be hosting a big celebration of the 2020 Crew Awards honouring the finalists and in particular the winners. We have chosen to host the party at the same location as the ceremony; The World Trade Center in Barcelona. This offers the perfect venue to celebrat the Crew Awards Celebration. The dates we have chosen are the weekend before the MYBA Show to enable many of you to combine your travel for both events into 1 trip.

TRANSFORMING LIVES Amber Charity Foundation changes young people’s lives, they offer people a safe place to live by providing supported housing around the UK. They transform the lives of young people that have difficulties creating an independent and positive future for themselves. They aim to help as many young people as possible move on to sustainable work, a secure home, and a fulfilling future. Last year we partnered up with the yachting industry’s leading data communications company, Axxess Marine for the Crew Awards and raised €11,654.43 which was donated collectively to the Amber foundation to support their cause. As the Crew Awards is about rewarding career efforts, we want to contribute to Amber’s objective which helps young people start their life and career in the best way possible. That is why last year, we enabled STCW courses for the young people at Amber, and this year we will be doing the same. Be a part of this life-changing charity which helps kick start young people’s futures!
