RADIO OPERATORS WITH MEDICAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SKILLS
A team of 24 amateur radio operators , who are well trained and familiar to mange any medical emergency during an epidemic like COVID 19,assisted with another batch of civil defence and community rescue volunteers have deployed in hospitals, district administration, civil defence HQ and district medical office.

There are 4 floors (Block1 to Block 4) completely isolated and most of the communication from this isolated block to other inside departments are through UHF hand-held . The wireless communication room to the district headquarters has setup in another block to prevent any chances of cross infections for radio operators.

Covid 19 Patients from rural district are admitted at Govt:Taluk Head Quarters Hospital Punalur, This hospital is 42 Kilometer from district headquarters. and this hospital was established in 1930 ,considered as one of the oldest and at the same time the most needy secondary health care institution at the southeast hilly belt of the state , as Punalur taluk is the most backward area among southern districts. Two Amateur radio stations has setup here to exchange information to district medical office. Hospital need 24x7 communication support to District medical headquarters.AARS-KL need more stations to Join with us to provide 24x7 support. All the instructions and requests from medical district headquarters, disaster management & Fire Force to this Taluk Head Quarters Hospital is through VHF (Where we need to depend on VU2GCC Repeater).

Covid 19 Patients in City can undergo for a First Level Screening here. After the screening for COVID 19 All the suspected cases are moved to Medical college Paripplly,(1) Where there is an Isolation Ward, Intensive Care Unit for Covid 19 Patients has arranged.

A Civil volunteer in this district fire station, collect the sanitization requirement after hospitalization of a COVID-19 suspected patient in a an active or positive case from various centers (Cleaning home, vehicles of Covid 19 Patient is done by Fire & Rescue Team. STATE BORDER HAM RADIO 1

We are setting up a parallel radio networking for connecting computer is going on by AARS-KL to connect two computer over radio as a backup plan for zero internet situation.
Assist the Civil Defence, distribute food packets to Ward level, approximately 1000 packets are distributing now.The requirements are communicating over phone to CD VOLUNTEER Station. All the instructions and requirements from medical district headquarters, Civil Defence district head quarters to state border , hospital administration is through VHF rely and repeater or simplex operations. We need more radio stations to assist in Inter- State border communication, at present we are looking for more ham radio stations to join and volunteer in coming days.
Same emergency communication setup of civil defence group has implemented for Fire & Rescue District head Quarters ,apart from this we are more into collecting the basic necessity shortage like food,rescue, transportation of aged citizens calls and other needs of public through CD volunteers are executing under the guidance of Fire Stations.

All the rural medical centers which act as the preliminarily screening and non-emergency Covid19 admission center are connected with District administration end DMO Office. We have setup rely stations to ensure the smooth communication. A specialized team of ham radio operators and Civil Defence members who has medical or paramedical experience has deployed in District medical College, where COVID-19 patience are admitted. We are managing this communication using HF, an d V H F i n c l u d i n g 2 r e l a y s t a t i o n s , w h i c h i s required due to the irregular terrain, and other geographical feature of This district , ( all this stations are spreading across hills, flat midland and costal areas )
SUPPORTING HOSPITALS WITH AMATEUR RADIO. IT IS FAR BETTER TO HAVE A GROUP OF OUTSIDE VOLUNTEER HAMS AT THE READY TO GO INTO THE HOSPITAL AND BE SPECIALISTS AT PERFORMING COMMUNICATION TASKS WHILE THE HOSPITAL FOLKS GO ABOUT THEIR IMPORTANT PATIENT CARE DUTIES.
