Here at Active in Style HQ we’ve been fueling up on Punch Food Superseeds for a while now, so we were super excited when the opportunity came along to spread the Superseed message far and wide in all your Active In Style orders! This week, we caught up with founder Alexandra Dudley to get an insight into her healthy living philosophy and find out her favourite ways to enjoy our on-the-go snack of the moment… We love the versatility of Superseeds and pretty much sprinkle them on everything! What are your favourite ways to use each flavour? I am on the go a lot so you’ll always find me with a tube of Meet Your Maca at the ready. This is my favourite flavour for general snacking. Maca is great for maintaining energy as well as balancing hormones so it’s great for all of us living the typical London fast paced lifestyle. Mega omega and Feel the Heat live in my desk drawer as they are a fab way of jazzing up my home-made packed lunch and adding a bit of crunch. Raw Cacao Boost are a great afternoon snack and I also love topping them on morning porridge and smoothie bowls. Describe your healthy living philosophy… I am a firm believer in balance. With so many new diets or ways of eating cropping up I think a lot of the time we just need to go back to the basics and relax a little around food. There are definatly things I aviod and certain foods that should be

enjoyed with moderation but I truly believe a little bit of what you fancy every now and then won’t kill you. The great thing about eating healthily is that your body actually enjoys it. There are so many wonderful, nourishing foods out there that we are lucky enough to have access to that the possibilities are endless. Eating healthy should never be boring or a chore. When it comes to healthy eating, my advice would be to ‘think outside the box.’ Try to eat things as close to their natural state as possible, this especially applies to buying food. There are actually quite a few organic vegetable markets around if you look and the prices aren’t sky high either. Be inventive with your food and try to eat a range of colours – natural of course – and play with it! Experiment with a Romanesco cauliflower or beetroot next time you feel like getting creative in the kitchen.

What is your favourite way to workout? I am extremely pushed for time and tend to work out between 6.00 and 6.30 am. I’m a big fan of HIIT but I will also practice yoga two to three times a week either at home or in a studio. I do yoga every Friday at 6.30 am and look forward to it every week. That one hour on the mat is pure bliss. No phones, no email, just connecting to your body and grounding your mind. What is your fail safe healthy dish to cook when pushed for time? When I finish late and am in need of some quick and easy nourishment my fail safe meal is my ‘tahini veg bowl.’ Usually that’s steamed kale, broccoli and spring greens or cabbage (what ever is in season) which I will tip back into the pot that the water was in and dress with a dressing of tahini, apple cider vinegar, tamari as well as a heap of fresh herbs. I’ll then top the bowl with two soft boiled or poached eggs and a good hand full of Feel the Heat Superseeds as they taste delicious on greens. All up this takes about 12 minutes and is totally delicious!

To get your hands on Punch Foods Superseeds, head over to Alex’s website where she is now taking orders online or follow her on Instagram and Twitter to find out about upcoming tastings and supper clubs.

Keep running Keeping fit in winter can be tough. You’re all cosy and warm, wrapped up undercovers in the morning, or got in from work, sat down with a cup of tea, and just cannot find the bravery to face the cold yet again. There are mounting reasons to not go; icy pavements, winds that push the cold into your pores, falling temperatures. Here’s a few tips to give yourself that little bit of motivation to get out that door. Lay out your clothes If you’re planning on a morning workout, get your clothes ready the night before. By prepping the night before, your mentally ready to get out of bed and be out that door

Don’t hang about Meeting a buddy? Don’t stand out in the cold, try to knock for them en-route, or meet indoors. Standing still in these temperatures is sure to put you in a bad mood!

Start out warm Don’t overdress, you will just end up sweating and stripping. Wear breathable layers, put them on the radiator before leaving, and do a little warm up before setting off. Be flexible When the weather is truely terrible, try another day.It might be pouring down with rain today, crisp and cool tomorrow. Set yourself an amount to work out in the week, and check the weather. If there is a week of truely awful weather, find classes, or have a indoor session instead. There is nothing worse than dripping hair and sodden feet.

Choose your gear wisely Everybody knows a new outfit is uplifting, so treat yourself to some good, practical clothing that not only makes you feel good, but is suitable for the conditions. Freezing cold weather? Try a hoodie with a cowel neck and drawstring, so you can pull it over your mouth to prevent a frozen throat. Soggy and wet? A light, breathable raincoat is a must to prevent icy skin. As the darkness comes earlier and earlier, it’s also very important to stay safe. Brightly coloured clothes will make sure you’re seen, and stick to routes you know. Treat yourself! Looking forward to a well deserved goody will push you out of the door. Make sure it’s warm, make sure it’s nutricious, and make sure it’s yummy! Try our healthy hot chocolate. It’s like a warm chocolatey hug for your tummy.

Healthy hot chocolate By Lottie Murphy

The gorgeous pilates instructor, presenter, blogger, foodie & all round healthy living advocate Lottie Murphy shared her healthy hot chocolate recipie with us. As the nights draw in, this warming drink will surely satisfy your longings for warmth and comfort, with a much needed boost of anioxidants from the raw cocoa powder.

Ingredients Cup or mug of coconut milk 1 tsp raw cacao or cocao 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp cashew butter 1 tsp honey/maple syrup (optional)

Method Heat the milk in a small saucepan then add all your other ingredients and stir well until warmed through and all combined. It’s then sometimes nice to whizz it in your blender to make sure all the cashew butter is mixed in and it makes it nice and frothy!
