I
graduated from Linfield College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University. After ten years of teaching high school math, I decided to steer my career in a new direction. Being a natural educator and lover of numbers, I have found my passion in using math and finances as a way to help families get into the home of their dreams. My passion is driven by giving families the opportunity to make buying a home, one of the most significant decisions in your life, enjoyable, exciting, and stress-free. I am here for you every step of the way. I ask a lot of questions, helping you identify your financial needs and desires. Then I educate you on your individualized options and the home buying process, so your needs are fully met. I am always available to answer questions – even outside of regular business hours. I was born and raised in McMinnville, Oregon and truly enjoy the riches our state has to offer – especially golfing. He loves to serve his community and currently serves as the Chair of the Ambassadors for the McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Board for Provoking Hope, Board Member and Website Administrator for the Yamhill County Historical Society, President of the Newberg Kiwanis Club, and more. He enjoys game nights with his family, playing disc golf, and helping others. His favorite sports team is the Portland Trailblazers. When asked what is important to him he said, “By giving without expectation of anything in return and adding value to people’s lives, my hope is to be known and remembered by my family, friends, and my community as inspiring, encouraging, a positive example, and someone who made a difference in others’ lives.” Mindy Ahrend is the first point of contact for service with our agency. She was previously in the education field for over 17 years before starting with American Family In 2017. She has a strong passion for helping people and greatly enjoys the customer service aspect of her job duties. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, card making, reading and dreaming of her next Disney adventure.
