Clinton Center LaToya S. Asher, DPT LaToya S. Asher, DPT received her doctorate of Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 2007. She obtained her Masters of Physical Therapy at University of Maryland at Baltimore in 2004. Since graduating, Dr. Asher has focused her practice in outpatient orthopedics and sports rehabilitation. Over the years, she has enjoyed working with a variety of patients, including college athletes, geriatrics, weekend warriors to name a few. Given her background in ballet and work with dancers, she is most recently pursuing her interest in women's health. When Dr. Asher is not researching her next continuing education course, she is busy enjoying being a new mother of a 26 week old baby girl. Her other interests are spending quality time with her husband and family, picnics at the park, Pilates and shopping.
Rebekah Coleman, LPTA Rebekah Coleman is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. She graduated from Northern Virginia Community College in 2004, she has experience in multiple settings which include nursing home and outpatient facilities. She joined Active Physical Therapy in 2010. In her free time, this Southern Maryland resident enjoys hanging out with her family and friends.
Ishita M. Doshi, MPT Ishita graduated with Masters of Science in Health & Rehabilitation Sciences with concentration in Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy from University of Pittsburgh in 2012. She was working at New York Spine and Sports Rehabilitation Medicine before she joined Active Physical Therapy group. She has attended various workshops on manual therapy and has worked as a Research Assistant for a study on Total Knee Arthroplasty and Rheumatoid Arthritis under Dr. Sara Piva. She wants to further enhance her skills by taking up continuing education courses on hands on approach for various musculoskeletal dysfunctions. In her free time, she likes to read, listen to music and hang out with friends. She is seeing patients at our Laurel location.
Jane Isleib, COTA/L, CPAM Jane obtained her Associate of Occupational Science degree from Pima Medical Institute in Denver, CO in 2011. She had previously earned a B.S. degree in Psychology from James Madison University. She has treated a variety of upper extremity conditions, from acute traumatic injuries to chronic pain conditions, and she is skilled in custom splinting. She is licensed in VA, MD, and DC and is certified in administering Physical Agent Modalities. She enjoys running and doing CrossFit.
Carlene Jerome, PT Carlene Jerome is a native of the Washington metropolitan area. She is a graduate from Hood College where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She also attended Howard University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (Magna Cum Laude) and Master's of Physical Therapy. She has been a practicing physical therapist for 13 years. She has experience in treating a wide range of conditions, which include total joint replacements, various sports injuries, a variety of tendonitis, post surgical conditions including rotator cuff repair, cervical fusions, and lumber laminectomies. She also enjoys performing manual techniques when necessary to assist in patient recovery.
Jim Luna, LPTA Jim Luna has been a PTA since 2000 when he earned his AAS at Northern Virginia Community College. Jim has also extended his knowledge base by attending numerous continuing education classes related to Sports Injuries, Manual Therapy and Weight Training.Jim is currently treating patients at our Clinton Center.
Arpit Sheth, DPT Arpit Sheth, DPT graduated with Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University, California in June 2015. He has previously obtained a Masters in Physical Therapy with concentration in Musculoskeletal (Orthopedic) Physical Therapy from Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2012. He has global experience working as a Physical Therapist in India, UK and now in USA. He has two research articles published in international journals for his work in the field of health and physical therapy. Arpit would like to continue his expertise in the field by enhancing his skills with sports taping, dry needling and hands on approach with manual therapy. In his free time, Arpit likes to spend quality time with friends and family, leisure traveling, watch movies and stay updated with current world affairs.
Trisha Whittaker, MOT, OTR/L, CHT Certified Hand Therapist Trisha has over 8 years experience as a Registered Occupational Therapist. She is a graduate of Saint Francis University for both her bachelor and master degrees. In 20102011, Trisha attended Drexel University and received a certificate in the Hand and Upper Quarter Rehabilitation. She then received her Certification in Hand Therapy in 2012. Trisha has experience in outpatient, acute and subacute rehabilitation. She has experience in working with a variety of ages and diagnoses. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, and watching movies.
Frederick Center Lynn Brewer, MPT Lynn Brewer, MPT earned her Master of Physical Therapy in 2001 from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and an undergraduate degree from Shepherd College in 1998. Lynn has extensive clinical experience in the outpatient setting serving local communities. Lynn has been instrumental in developing breast cancer rehabilitation programs, and has published a professional research article on the topic. She also has experience in treating a variety of diagnoses including urinary incontinence, vertigo disorders, balance disturbances, and a variety of orthopedic conditions. She is a national and MD state chapter member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and belongs to the neurology, women’s health, and orthopedic special sections.
Lucas McCollum, LPTA, ACSM, USAT Level 1 Coach Lucas graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Nutrition. He played four years of Varsity Baseball for Jacksonville State University Gamecocks as a pitcher. After college, Lucas played two years of Independent League Baseball for the Selma Clover Leafs in the Southeastern League. He continued his education at Carroll County Community College in the Physical Therapist Assistant program, now working fulltime as a LPTA. Lucas likes competitively participating in Triathlons, Cycling, and Running Races. In 2008, 2009, and 2013 Lucas competed in the prestigious Ford Ironman World Championship and The Foster Grant 70.3 Ironman World Championship. He has also competed in over 70 multisport events all over the world which includes representing Team USA for the ITU Long Course World Championship for the sport of duathlon and triathlon. Lucas is a member of the highly talented Snapple Triathlon Elite Team and races in the Elite/Am division for the sport of triathlon and duathlon. He has over a dozen overall victories and has set
course records at the sprint, Olympic and halfiron distance triathlons. According to USAT Lucas is ranked in the Top 10 in the USA and #1 in Maryland for triathlon and duathlon and has made AllAmerican status the past 8 years. Lucas specializes and enjoys treating sports related injuries from swimming, cycling, running, and pitching. He has completed multiple continuing education courses for treating multisport athletes and helping them achieve peak performance. Most recently he completed Orthopaedic Management of the Runner, Cyclist, and Swimmer. As well as treating patients with overuse injuries from sports, Lucas also is certified as a Clinical Exercise Specialist and Certified Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine and helps people from all levels of ability achieve their fitness goals. Lucas currently works with athletes in many sports to develop overall strength, speed, agility, endurance, weight loss, and flexibility. In 2014 Lucas was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Clinical Instruction by Carroll Community College.
Gaithersburg/Germantown Center Quentin Campbell (PT) Quentin is a graduate from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He also attended Salisbury University for his undergraduate in Exercise Science. Quentin is a competitive Cyclist and Triathlete. Quentin also enjoys running and participates in multiple running events from 5 ks to HalfMarathon distance. When he isn't out on the road he enjoys being in the gym. He specializes in orthopedics and manual therapy and has done internships pediatric setting. Quentin also performs Functional Capacity Evaluations.
Kareen (Kay) Villamore, PT Kareen graduated from the University of East Raymon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in 2006. Kay enjoys traveling. In her free time, Kay plays basketball, badminton, and volleyball and likes to do Zumba. Kay was a member of her university’s performing arts club. She is fluent in Tagalog and proficient in Spanish. Kay likes to treat patients with back and knee conditions.

J.R. Jarvis, LPTA J.R. earned his AAS as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Carroll Community in 2001. He has over 13 years of extensive experience treating a variety of injuries and medical conditions in an outpatient setting. He is a member of American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has received their Recognition of Advanced Proficiency for the Physical Therapist Assistant in the Musculoskeletal Category in 2007 and 2013 (each a 5 year term). J.R. is also a Certified Strength Training Specialists and is a Certified Personal Trainer. He enjoys working with overweight and obese children promoting exercise and healthier lifestyles. As an active chair member for the American Heart Association he helps promote awareness for heart disease. He enjoys running, cycling, and multisport events and golf He has completed numerous half marathons and 100 mile biking events.
Sarah Kornides, DPT, ART Certified Sarah is graduate from the University of St Augustine in San Diego, where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She also attended University of Maryland, college park for her undergraduate in Kinesiology and Boonsboro High School. Sarah is Hagerstown native and enjoys running, crossfit, cooking, and yoga. She specializes in orthopedics and manual therapy and has done internships with yoga physical therapy clinics in San Diego, as well as major hospitals such as Kaiser and George Washington hospital. Sarah also performs Functional Capacity Evaluations at the Hagerstown Center. She recently received her Active Release Techniques certification, and is Rock Tape certified and enjoys working with all ages.

Still University, in Arizona. Aiman has a belief in education as a means to improve quality of life. He has had the opportunity to work at multiple settings, with diverse athletic populations from collegiate to professional. He is motivated to help patients achieve their highest potential as they recover from acute to chronic injuries.

Yonas received his Bachelor's from University of Maryland, College Park in 2006 and he went on to receive his doctorate in Physical Therapy from George Washington University. He is the newest member of our clinical team and is based at our Laurel Clinic. His hobbies include playing golf, tennis, and basketball.

Tammy Ghimire, LPTA Tammy Ghimire is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. She graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College with an AAS degree in PT Assisting in 2010. She completed a BA in Spanish and sociology in Minnesota prior to this, later changing course to follow her passion in providing PT services. Tammy is proficient in oral and written Spanish. Although she has experience in multiple PT settings, she has practiced most in outpatient orthopedic clinics. Tammy enjoys hiking, yoga, reading, and keeping up with research to continually advance her PT care skills. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), APTA Orthopedic Special Section, and Maryland Physical Therapy Association. She is currently seeing patients in our Laurel office.

Enoch Franklin Samraj, PT, DPT CSCS
Enoch Joined Active Physical Therapy in October, 2015 at laurel. Enoch enjoys working with patients and pays particular importance to individual differences while creating a plan of care. His interests are in manual therapy, postoperative care, balance/ coordination& vestibular rehab, muscle imbalances, movement science and sport medicine. Enoch graduated from Loma Linda University, CA in 2015 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, prior to this he completed a year of graduate studies in exercise physiology at the University of Texas at Arlington, TX. Apart from work, Enoch plays competitive racquetball and cricket. He is fond of watching tennis and track & field events. He takes pleasure in travelling, micro blogging, classical music and experiencing different cultures.
