Small Batch Saturday at central market

Small Batch Saturday A coffee education and engagement event held in the morning one Sunday a month in the cafe section of various H.E.B. Central Market locations. The event is free to the public, but the event is capped at 50 people and first 25 people to sign up receive a free mug.

Components 1. Those involved will receive a brief introduction to the coffee roasting process and have the opportunity to assist the roaster in process. 2. The group will then move to the coffee bar where a barista will teach them what goes into the making of each drink, i.e. espresso, cortado, americano, cappucino, latte, etc. 3. The group will then get to pick a drink of their choice from those just explained. This drink will be served using the beans they earlier assisted in the roasting of. 4. The first 25 that signed up will then receive their free mug. The excess roasted coffee will be bagged and available for purchase by the pound.

Cafe Central App

There will also be an app available to download for free. It will include a brief description of the drinks that were taught in the instruction and an overview of popular roast choices available for purchase in store. This will be useful on-the-go reference as the customer may forget what is in specific drinks on the menu. This will also be helpful when purchasing coffee in bulk so as to better choose a coffee that matches the customer’s personal taste.

Purpose Educate the public on the processes that go into making their coffee. Build a sense of community between fellow Central Market Cafe customers and the baristas that work their. Give a company a familiar face that can be recognized on each visit. Bring the gap and build a personal bond between Central Market and the consumer.
