Design aesthetics today are created to match brand identity. The eye is a sensitive thing. Within seconds you decide what a product does and if you like it or not. It is the designer responsibility to make the user experience as pleasing as possible. Analyzing a successful old product is a good way to create something coherent and meaningful.

So far Google has been by far the most committed company in the Internet sector to invest in renewable energy, energy efficiency and green transportation. The search engine giant has committed to hundreds of millions of dollars for research into clean power, including recent investments in wind, enhanced geothermal and plug-in vehicle startups. However, their problem of communicating their vision has been proven hard.

“Velcroed together, stacked in racks, and lined up in back-to-back rows, the servers require a half-watt in cooling for every watt they use in processing, and Google leads the field in squeezing more servers into less space. Based on a projected industry standard of 500 watts per square foot in 2011, the Dalles plant can be expected to demand about 103 megawatts of electricity—enough to power 82,000 homes, or a city the size of Tacoma, Washington.

enhanced geothermal technology is already a big part of Google’s energy research program.

a new more efficient grid for electricity would would make us use less energy for the same result.

saving up energy through wind power is one of the next step in the right direction. wind power has so far been something situated far away from society due to its giant stature. now, with new technology an integration is possible. energytower is a new vertical wind turbine created by a new and upcoming Swedish wind power company. it is still being tested.

five Energy towers partly supply the data center with electricity.

No sound, violent movement nor shadows are scaring people away. Much like a beachwalk this would be the a nice and way of discovering the coastline. The formations would look naturally fitted into the surrounding. Materials like thick wood would be used as a surface of the piers. The Energy towers are offcourse colored in graphical colors much like all Google’s services. Furthest out on the longest pier a staircase will run out in the water. The idea is to measure the waterlevel from day to day or year to year. For the people who can not visit personally a visual walk through will be available with the Google Earth program. Here you should be able to look up statistics, like energy consumption, wind power, water level as well as temperature both in and outside the close data center.

The brief of this project to make a knife connected to the identity of a brand. This knife was resembled from the form language of Bentley Motors, the exclusive car company that is rooted in the UK. The overall form was inspired from the side windows of a Continental GT. The bulky form is seen through all the views of the car, thus the thicker grip of the knife. In the process of though some words were written down.
