01 Sita Brief To design a connected home solution for real households that enhances the experience of home. Solution A babysitting app that utilises the â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;internet of thingsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; in a connected home to optimise the sitters care whilst reassuring parents when away from their child.

Sita offers carers useful tools to help monitor the child and interact with their environment in a non-invasive manner, while parents can be safe in the knowledge that their child is being properly cared for even though they are away from home.

From the research stage it was clear that the ability to assess the child’s well-being was key to both parties, hence the focus on generating detailed feedback within the app. This includes heart rate and sleeping

The parent is then able to access a selection of these tools when away from the home in order to gain reassurance of their child’s welfare whilst in the care of another.

03 CycleSafe Problem Since the Barclays cycle hire scheme started in 2010 over 22,000,000 trips have been taken. 92% of the users of the scheme said that they didnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t wear any personal protective equipment and 84% said they feared for their safety as a result of this. 83% said the reason they didnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t protect themselves was due to convenience. Brief Develop a convenient product solution that improves safety for the users of the London cycle hire scheme.

CycleSafe Integrated safety system for users of the London Cycle Hire Scheme that aims to improve rider confidence and awareness on the road.

Upon unlocking the bike, user enters code to reveal the screen.

Taking into account factors such as safety and time, the user selects a route and begins journey.

Later in the journey the user is informed of an approaching accident black spot and is advised to take caution.

User is asked to input their destination.

When prompted, user presses button on handlebars to trigger the right indicator situated on the rear of the bike.

User reaches their destination, putting the bike back in its dock. The shutters close until next use.

User Testing

The high fidelity mockups seen above were developed in order to be tested with users. The testing consisted of two parts: one based on gauging understanding through table-top

analysis (image 1), the other to assess visibility and usability through physical prototyping (image 2). The data generated was used to create improved versions of the screen flows.

04 Career Path Brief Develop a graphic that shows how new members of the Plowman Craven family can progress through the business. Outcome Using a tree as inspiration, a visual that focuses on a non-linear path to success.

05 Down The Dip Brief Create a set of labels for a small scale microbrewery for their signature cider brews. Solution Clean, classic aesthetic that stands out with subtlety in a busy market place.
