PHOENIX DETROIT OPPURTUNITY DETROIT 2013 Tools used -Rhino, Keyshot Render, Adobe Suite
The Phoenix proposes a new vision for the City of Detroit; with this new design comes the resurrection of the once world renowned Hudson’s site. This location was home to the second largest retail setting in the United States and was known for its large collection of lavish merchandise. The hope is that this site will once again reclaim that long lost title.

DETROIT MANUFACTURING OF GROSS PRODUCT
It is important this new typology of retail building is driven by Detroit’s history, as the Phoenix will lie in one of the most prominent downtown core locations. This ideal site gives the building the unique opportunity to become a new central landmark, as is directly related to many other major Detroit attractions. These relationships uncovered paths that were extended through the site, shifting its focus to pedestrian activity and therefore allowing for maximum retail store fronts, providing every vender with a corner advantage.
Detroit was once a city the world looked to for innovation and has struggled to regain that image. Undeniably, Detroit is the true definition of an American city, as its history clearly demonstrates. Given that the city has such a large impact on the United States, we should embrace its past and display it proudly. The Phoenix offers the people of Detroit a place to honor their past while living and shopping within it. This structure becomes a monument that pays tribute to the great American city, paving the way for an inspirational future. Detroit will persevere.

Statement
Eighty-nine percent of residents in the United States utilize the automobile as their primary means of transTeam - Adam Meloche and Daniel Toth Tools used -Rhino 4, Keyshot Render, Adobe portation; perhaps it is time to realize the permanence of the vehicle, and begin to adjust and create an environment for everyday life with an emphasis on the automobile. Concourse Tower is a proposal for a revoluSuite
tionary skyscraper designed to completely intertwine with its highway system in three dimensional space. The entire focus of this concept is to create and enhance the relationships between both vehicular and pedestrian traffic and the space in which they travel. By introducing a new typology of highway system into a high-density urban area, the existing infrastructure of the city remains uninterrupted, while allowing the future development of the city to continue in a vertical direction, utilizing three dimensional space.
D3 HOUSING
Team - Adam Meloche and Daniel Toth Tools used -Sketchup, Twighlight Render/Artlantis Render, Adobe Suite
The sky gardens living units are designed with an emphasis on verticality which allows for the space within it to feel secluded as each floor permits natural unobstructed light from three sides. The concept is to utilize the public spaces of a home as the foundation on which a family is built upon. With this new idea of living the house becomes more private as you travel vertically through it. This provides the privacy and sense of ownership that is desired in any family home.
