ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE NEW POLICY

APG distributed an AI policy on March 1, 2024.

With the increasing popularity of generative AI, it has become necessary to outline the proper use of the tools available. The use of AI is allowed while performing work for APG but the parameters of use should be discussed with a supervisor to be sure the use meets company policy, is properly cited, and fact-checked for accuracy.

For a copy of the AI policy, please contact HR.

COVID-19 — New Guidelines

Associates who test positive for COVID-19 no longer need to isolate for five days.

COVID-19 remains an important public health threat, but it is no longer the emergency that it once was, and its health impacts increasingly resemble those of other respiratory viral illnesses,including influenza and RSV. This reality enabled the CDC to provide updated guidance proportionate to the risk COVID-19 poses.

On Friday, March 1, 2024, the CDC released new isolation guidelines for people who test positive for COVID -19 as follows:

• Stay home when sick and;

• Return to work when symptoms improve and fever free for 24 hours

The shift reflects sustained decreases in the most severe outcomes of COVID -19 since the beginning of the pandemic. Hospital admissions for COVID -19 have decreased by more than 75% and deaths by more than 90% compared to January 2022.

The CDC still encourages people to play it safe for five days after feeling better. This includes masking around vulnerable people; such as the elderly, people with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women.

THE CDC’S MAIN TIPS FOR REDUCING COVID-19 SPREAD ARE:

• Get the COVID -19 vaccine - As a reminder, APG’s BCBS medical plan covers the cost of COVID -19 vaccines and testing kits for associates enrolled in the medical plan

• Stay home when you feel sick and return to work after symptoms improve and fever free for 24 hours

• Cover your mouth when coughing and sneezing

• Wash hands frequently

• Increase ventilation by opening windows, using air purifiers, and gathering outside when possible
