Inside

Whether in a formal group, church, synagogue, or mosque, or in a private and solitary way, many people are connected to traditions of worship. With this annual publication, we seek to provide a directory of venues and resources that help to draw a picture of the many places of worship within our communities. This guide comes at a time of year when many faiths celebrate Passover and Easter. Others simply mark the season with new growth and life as we emerge from winter into spring. Whatever the cause of celebration, we are fortunate to have a vibrant and active community of worshipers within our county lines. WEYBRIDGE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH United Church of Christ

The Weybridge Church is a small, active congregation with a big heart. We are: an Open and Affirming Congregation in the United Church of Christ, involved in interfaith and ecumenical events and programs in the Middlebury area, known for community events such as our fall chicken pie supper, outdoor live nativity service, and Easter breakfast. We are committed to mission and service to others. Mission and outreach is a core expression of our faith. The church provides financial support to local, national and international organizations, such as John Graham Shelter, Vermont Kids for Peace, and Hands to Honduras. Members are actively involved in CROP Walk, Mothers Without Borders, HOPE, Community Dinners and more.

At the heart of our life together is: WORSHIP, which is lively in style yet traditional in form, and enhanced by an enthusiastic and inspired choir. LEARNING, which is offered in adult study groups and Sunday School, and FELLOWSHIP, which is warm and welcoming for all.

Though our current brick-and-stone house of worship was built in 1847, this congregation has been worshiping on Weybridge Hill since 1794. We invite you to come — and celebrate God’s presence, seek God’s word for your life, offer your gifts, and share in a caring and inclusive community of God’s people.
