HODE HOUSE Architectural Design 2 Studio Project HODE House is a project to design a dwelling house for one spesific client. This project was located in South Tangerang with a four members family as a client.

THE CLIENT

GENERAL INFO The client is a four-member family consisting of Father, Mother, Aunt, and a Daughter. The approach used as a design basis is client-driven approach that will determine the later design.

ISSUES The issue found in the old house is the overall design did not support one of the family member who is deaf and later affect the family relationships to this certain family member.

DESIGN PROCESS Concept / Ideas Creating a deaf-friendly dwelling space and increasing each occupant’s daily relationships.

Visual Accessability These essentials characteristics of space experience are used to generate certain keyword to support the design process, which is Interlinked Transition

TECTONIC RULES : Interlinked Transition Rules 02 : Indirect Interlinking

Basic Shape used are cubes and cuboids.

Indirect transition are used to interlink between two space with spatial spectrum hiearchy. Indirect transition is translated as hallway or pathway.

Rules 01 : Direct Interlinking

Rules 03 : Levelled Privacy Private

Public Direct transition are used to interlink between two private space or between public and semi-private space. Direct transition is translated as a transition room.

Masses with similar spatial spectrum are count as an unit. Different spatial spectrum are assembled with vertical hierarchy.

SEMESTA Architectural Design 3 Studio Project Semesta is a pavillion-sized Chapel and located in the middle of pines woods in Bantul, Yogyakarta. Semesta symbolizes the unity of God, nature, and human being in one space that works as a praying space with solemn and serene atmosphere around. This project is a project based on materials potentials and exploration as a design basis.

Explorations Brick Vault Exploration

In this exploration, i used copper frame to support the vault, however later i found out that copper is not suitable as structure. Meanwhile, bricks vault can self-support its form.

Brick Bonding/Arrangement Exploration

In this exploration, i used copper support bond bricks, however copper is not suitable to hold this many heavy bricks.

Bamboo Joints Exploration

Site

Location Jl. Parangtritis, Paker, Mulyodadi,Kec. Bambanglipuro, Bantul, DIY, ID *In this project, site is not the main focus, but more likely to its materials and treatment used toward them. In this exploration, i try to joint bamboos with knots and dowels with stacking as its tectonic.

The brick walls are setting boundaries between praying space and temporal space.

IDEAS / CONCEPT

SITE Context

Creating flexible, multifunction space to support Artists or Performers to be creative, and creating design that are responding to site and energy using.

Wind Analysis

The main idea is to combine Culture, Art, and Education which are the main characteristic of the locals, with people, in the form of Cultural Centre.

Site Potential

Average Sun Radiation

The site is located 9km from Bantul downtown and 19km form Yogyakarta downtown, and located in the main road from downtown to coastal area. This could be a plus point as the site is easy to be found by tourist or locals.

Form Evaluation : Angled shape or building form did not maximising the wind distribution and sun potential, and did not perform an effective passive strategies.

FORMING Circular & Aerodynamics shape become the most effective shape and form compared to angled/cube building to respond to wind & heat distribution.

FORM & SHAPE Development

started with three circle to represent the thre main program : Exhibition, Workshop, and Auditorium. The three circles are arranged to be grouped as a whole form and shape. The three circles are used based on the shape effectivity towards environments.

B Physical Architectural Design 4 Studio Project B Phyisical is a Sport and Wellness centre located in Bintaro to support and faciliate health and active lifestyle in the neighbourhood, especially youngsters who are gen Z. The project offer sport and active experience whether we play the sport or just walking by the building. This project is a project with Top Down method and typology study as design approach and using digital making utilites to explore the form.

Issue

Goals

Technology development offers instant and easy access to almost everything, especially for people who are Gen Z. This resulting on passive lifestyle that worsen health and wellness of individuals. On the other hand, the technology also help to increase awareness to live a healthy lifestyle on some community of Gen Z.

From the issue, this project aims to increase health and wellness of individuals in the community and also supporting community active and healthy lifestyle that will help increase community’s health.

TYPOLOGY STUDY The typology study use 10 precedent regarding building as Sport and Wellness Centre with 12 variables reduction.

SITE CONTEXT Sun + Shadow

The building are open in four side and two of them are facing main road.

The site oriantated from east-west, maximising the sun exposure. Existing buildings in east-west era can not work as shading.

FUN(I)DENTITY Architectural Design 4 Studio Project Fun(i)dentity is a project that promotes city’s identity journey with entertainment and leisure space. The project aims to widen general community’s knowledge about various identity and cultural diversity thorought the city. On the other place, the project also provide spaces for people and community to promote their identity and culture from time to time.

The concept of the project are Identity Journey which allows user to explore variety of entertainment and leisure space. The main journey program are Exhibition Journey and Play/Explore Journey. Exhibition Journey focus more on real time events and object while Play/Explore journey is highly equipped with digital intervention such as XR Technology.

Fun(i)dentity is located in Senayan, precisely in RW.3, Senayan, Kec. Kby. Baru, Kota Jakarta Selatan, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta. The site is located in CBD area with two seperate site that are connected by public pedestrian bridge and MRT Station. The site are highly accessible as the site are connected with several public transportations and artery roads.
