We love an icy cocktail — but what we don’t love is the headache and foggy feeling that follows.
Turns out SA locals Felishia and Len weren’t big fans of the after-booze blues either, which led them to create Hey Low Spirits.
“Len and I met at a distilling workshop in 2019 and were talking about how great it would be to make gin for a living. But we needed a point of difference, and we wanted our brand to really stand for something,” says Felishia.
With less than a handful of low-alcohol spirits available — and none distilled in Australia at that stage — Felishia and Len found their niche: an all natural, low-alcohol botanical spirit.
Hey Low Spirits are gluten-free, sugarfree, vegan-friendly, contain no nasty ingredients and they’re just a teeny-tiny 18 calories per serve — so it’s a drink that will have your body thanking you, not cursing you the next day. Packing a punch with passionfruit and plenty of citrus, each sip carries a light and bright taste and won’t drag you down with a hangover.

“The process behind distilling a low-alcohol product is quite different to a normal gin, as you need to compensate for the lack of alcohol in the product. We use triple the amount of botanicals that you’d find in a normal gin so that the full flavour really shines through. We still predominantly use juniper as that’s the base of our spirit, but we also use lemon myrtle and mandarin peel to give it that citrusy zing,” explains Felishia.

We’ve named it Fika — a Swedish saying which means to take a moment to slow down and enjoy the good things in life,” Paul says.
“Another fun addition to our line-up is the Pet Nat, which is a low-intervention pink wine. It has a natural carbonation; is a very organic conscientious wine and tastes like Fruit Tingles.” Now, that tickles our fancy!
LET’S TALK VIBES Between the setting, the wines, tasty pizzas and down-to-earth hospitality, Kersbrook Hill is a winner any time of the year. A cellar door tasting with Paul and the team is all about genuine hospitality — at no cost he’ll chat in layman’s terms or mix it up if you’re into wine lingo.
Or you can delve deeper with a Family Series tasting, which includes a behindthe-scenes tour of the winery — they even have a new series rosé named after granddaughter Ellie Mae… cuuute! “You can try barrel tastings — which are very different, really raw and fresh as opposed to settled once they’re sealed in the bottles,” Paul says.
Over spring and summer, they open up a cocktail bar in the cellar door to serve up frozen rosés (look out!) and signature wine cocktails. Also, keep an eye and ear out for their acoustic nights for something even more spesh.

Rattan furniture is having a major moment in style.
While some trends come and go (rah-rah skirts and razor thin eyebrows, we’re looking at you), we have a feeling that rattan is here to stay. Warm, inviting and authentic, this sustainable material can be shaped into unique pieces that add a chic natural vibe to your casa.
SA based sister-bosses Kylie and Alicia have dived headfirst into the rattan world to create their booming brand, Koko Collective — a predominantly online business that sells beautifully handcrafted pieces of furniture and homewares.
“While on a family holiday, we met a local lady who crafted beautiful rattan pieces. It was a small family business, which we love to support, and we could tell that a rattan range would be popular in Australia,” says Kylie.
The two sisters design rattan pieces with the Australian lifestyle in mind. Their popular Winnie Buffet is a beautiful example of this; originally large with ample storage, there were requests for a shorter design and also a narrower design to fit Australian homes — so the girls made this happen and now they’re a popular staple!

You’re too fat — we don’t have anything for you here.” That shocking sentence was said to Adelaide gal Mascia when she was searching for her dream dress to walk down the aisle. “Stuff that,” she thought and out of a humiliating situation came a brilliant idea! “I’m going to start a bridal shop that will make dresses for any woman, no matter what shape or size she is.” And so, Bridal Fusion By Mascia was born.
This bridal and formal wear shop stands head and shoulders above the rest because of its point of difference. “We don’t care about size here; it’s not even a thing. All we’re concerned about is making sure women of all body shapes find their dream dress. I can look at a woman’s body and know what will look amazing on her,” says Mascia.
