About saffron Saffron is a Cairo-based design studio, specializing in private residential, hospitality and multi-unit developments. Our expertise extends across all stages of design and construction; from feasibility studies, planning applications, conceptual and detailed design through to monitoring construction on-site, procurement and hand-over, ensuring each project is finished to the highest level of quality. We offer non methodic design value that is purely based on measured principles and inspired by history, context and the architectural vernacular, creating designs of incomparable significance.

Adel Allam is an architect and interior designer who lives in Cairo, Egypt. After graduating form the American University in Cairo with a degree in Architecture engineering and a minor in Arts, Adel joined Dr. Mohamed Noaman, who was his professor and mentor at the university, and his team at his office “Darnoama� where he would design a wide scale of projects ranging from residential villas to boats.

Saif Desouky is a graduate from the American university in Cairo, he previously worked in Dar Elhandassah transitioning between the technical office dept. and the project management dept. throughout this time he was capable of attaining a post graduate diploma in const. project management and was also LEED GA certified after passing the requirements set by the GBCI.

Ibrahim Soliman is an architect who graduated from the American university in Cairo. Soon after his graduation Ibrahim was involved the construction of myriad of architectural projects where he contributed in finishing as an execution engineer. Ibrahim was also involved in site supervision as well as project management in projects which varied from large office complexes to small residential villas.


Encouraging creativity is a core micro culture assembled within Saffron, sculpturing ideas and visions into reality by tailoring our designs not only to our clients’ needs but customized down to the smallest details, fitting perfectly with their daily lifestyles & desires. Saffrons approach involves an interactive relationship with the client, where the design phase becomes a journey of experiences and an integral stage to reach a beyond acceptable outcome of spaces that are configured to fulfill every aspect of the user’s requirements of self-comfort and ease.

contempor chic This unique residence was inspired by the contemporary classical style which created an eclectic feel of classical features such as symmetry & the specific layout of furniture in addition to elements such as the intricate & detailed cornices & wall paneling sculptured & designed to fit in perfect sync with the modern tones & shades of colors. This had created the required serene feel and vibe to the house. In the opposite visual the regency style dining chairs and table are contrasted with the white paneling, the Carara marble flooring and the franz kline art work.

The use of symmetry and monochrome colors throught out the wall finishes and floorings is complemented by the use of beige and brown fabrics in the furniture, the minimalist painintgs on the walls and the black accessories.







the use of white fabrics through out the outdoor furniture and the gazebo gave a serene feeling to the landscape and made the lush greenery the most dominant feature in this garden.




This bedroom was inspired by the English colonial style through the use of white linens , the extensive use of wood cladding on the walls and the ceiling and the canopy bed. the colonial look and the dramatic lighting achieved by the large central and the two bedside chandliers gives a grandeur and mystical feel to the space.


The use of exotic geometry & special marbles had not only added to the grandness of the bathroom but also a classical sense without any direct use of such features. Furthermore the layout of fixtures had created spaciousness, comfort & ease of maneuvering throughout the bathroom adding to the experience of comfort & luxury.

In this living space the client asked for a more causal and comfortable setting. accordingly the design shifted to a more cosy modern look throught the use of natural textures like wood and stone and also the use of warm colors in the fabrics.




MINIMAl

Seashell , North Coast Alexandria, Egypt



For this summer house the client demanded a simple and elegent design with open and inviting spaces and therefore, a minimalist approach was taken to the design.




A monochramatic color scheme is used in this view of the living space to add to the minimlaist design. Minimalist furniture like the “Stilt Coupe� chair by Holy Hunt, the coffee table by Christian Liaigre and the L shaped sofa gives and light and sleek effect to the space. some biege cues is used throught out the space to give warmth to the overall mood.


english bespoke A calm mood of the English style, incorporated with a flair of french elements, had composed a harmonious and organized feel of symmetry and grandure alike. The color palette was intended to range between monochrome and earthy colors emitting a cosy & home like feel scaling down the project to a feel of human size.

MODERN ECLECTIC

When modern ideology meets ethnic design, an eclectic vibe is created that manipulates the overall feel of this project. Extravagant yet toned down ornaments & features of islamic architecture was incorporated to create spaces that imitate the clients vision of openess with a conservative edge for the love of orientalism.

An easy and modern setting was infused with morrocan textures and decor elements. The use of monochramtic color pallette throught the architectural finishes is juxtoposed by the vivid colors of the fabrics in the furniture, carpets and the Mughal artwork.

u r b a n elegence In this project the client prefered a modern look to thier spaces and accordingly the designers provided a minimlaistc design that made the interiors feel more sapceous and at the same time luxoirus and granduer. a simple monotone color palette of beige and brown was used throught out the floorings and the wall fininhes and was complemented by the velevet fabrics in the furniture which had a desaturated shades of blue and grey.
