Biography Her inspirations come from traditional burlesque performance, rock’n’roll and exoticism. Since 2009, Cerise Diva Champomy also teaches the art of teasing and organizes workshops in Paris and all around France.
Cerise Diva Champomy made her performing debut in 2004 and is one of the first French burlesque performers. She has participated in several neo burlesque art projects with the first French neo burlesque company, “kisses Cause Trouble” and she co-founded in 2006, the company “Bump N’Grind Honeys”. In 2009 Cerise Diva Champomy, the tattooed and glamorous burlesque performer started her solo career.
The Neo burlesque A new generation of performers brought burlesque back. The burlesque revival is based on traditional burlesque art and a new form of performance styles which conveys a message. Neo-burlesque acts can be from classic strip tease to theatrical or comic scenes. Neo burlesque or new burlesque revival commences in the mid-1990 thanks to the emergence of artists and companies such as The Velvet Hammer directed by Michelle Carr. This art movement pays tribute to the end of the XIX century, era when the first French cabarets were founded, and the forties and fifties embodied by Pin Ups and personalities such as Tempest Storm, Lili St Cyr and Bettie Page.
The success of Neo burlesque exploded in the 2000 and French pioneers like Cerise Diva Champomy brought back the movement and created the first French burlesque companies in 2004 called “Kisses Cause Trouble�.
