Hi, I am Aditya Sanklecha, I am an ambitious, dedicated, reliable and skilled architecture student who loves to be challenged in learning new things. Architecture to me, is a multi-disciplinary subject that has helped me to grow as a person and to view things in a different perspective. I believe that any space designed or any building built must be in accordance to the comfort of the end-users. All my works combine bold artistic stlye and technical linework to produce dramatic, interesting and thought provoking architecuture. I am currently seeking a job for the role of Junior Architect to enhance my experience within the design and practical field to help expand my understanding and knowledge of Architecture and Design.

01 COMMUNITY CENTER , THESIS PROJECT


INTRODUCTION A quality community wellness hub is a valuable asset to any city. A well-run community center serves as a thriving hub of activity for youth, families, senior citizens. A vibrant community hub can have a stabilizing effect on the lives of young people. By providing safe and adequately equipped spaces for physical activities like dance, martial arts, yoga, basketball, and other sports. Community hubs develops discipline, healthy exercise habits, and teamwork. Community wellness hubs create the perfect setting for local mentorship programs, providing guidance and leadership development for the youth of the community. Community hubs doesn’t just provide to young people. Walking clubs, fitness programs, athletic opportunities, arts and crafts classes, and various cultural activities are made available to people of of all ages by community hubs. A recreation facility helps to develop a culture of physical wellbeing, mental health, and nutritional education. With intelligent programming and effective community outreach, a community wellness hub can be a central component to enact change at the community level. Unfortunately, in many cities, community hubs aren’t meeting the needs of the people around them.

PROJECT BRIEF A community hub is a place where people from a particular neighbourhood can meet for social events, education classes, or recreational activities. The idea of the community centre is to offer a place where all members of the community from young to old, can meet for various activities. All too often it’s the only such place available in a community. Community hub is a built environment that offers itself for community, use or encourages community participation in a social sense. It creates opportunities for health, wellbeing and quality lifestyle for the community. The spaces enhances personal development, expression, creativity, individuality, social, physical and intellectual growth of children, youth and adults. It acts as a destination where get-togethers, cultural events, social events, seminars, workshops, tournaments, competitions are held. The hub helps in development of people’s skills at all levels from leisure participation to professional training.

AIM OF THE PROJECT • • • •

To create an environment that fosters engagement and helps community strengthen. To create spaces and experiences that inspire action and creativity and thus leads to self growth at an individual level. To act as a social hub for the community. To strike balance between the aspirations of the community and the environment that they are familiar with, to create a new environment that is suited to their needs.

OBJECTIVES

• To act as a space where people come to make their lifestyle comfortable. • To create an environment that enhances community engagement thus making the community understanding better. • To develop programmes, services and activities that the address the social, cultural, recreational, welfare and educational needs of the community, • To act as a social hub for the community, over which the users feel a sense of ownership.

USERS AND ACTIVITIES • • • • •

As a place for various community celebrations during occasions. As a place for public meetings, seminars, workshops for different uses. As a place where community members meet each other socially. As a community venue for entertainment. As a destination for tournaments, get-togethers, social event, exhibitions etc

TEMPERATURE ANALYSIS The "mean daily maximum" (solid red line) shows the maximum temperature of an average day for every month. Likewise, "mean daily minimum" (solid blue line) shows the average minimum temperature. Hot days and cold nights (dashed red and blue lines) show the average of the hottest day and coldest night of each month of the last 30 years.

Landuse: Public and Semipublic Population density: Byatarayanapura is one of the largest suburbs in Bengaluru. It has a population of 72,154 citizens in an area of 9.6 sq kms. ( 2372.2 acres ). People per sq km: 7516 People per acre: 30

PRECIPITATION ANALYSIS The precipitation chart is useful to plan for seasonal effects such as monsoon climate in India. Monthly precipitations above 150mm are mostly wet, below 30 mm mostly dry. The diagram for Bangalore shows the days per month, during which the wind reaches a certain speed. The wind rose for Bengaluru shows how many hours per year the wind blows from the indicated direction. Example SW: Wind is blowing from South-West (SW) to North-East (NE).

Surrounding Towns: Byatarayanapura is bound by Hebbal Kempapura, Sanjeevinagar, Amrutahalli and Jakkur. Location connectivity: Located along the road from the Kempegowda International Airport, Byatarayanapura segment acts as a well gateway to the city. Though strategically located, it does not have either the infrastructure or an identity which can provide an impression about the city for those landing here for the first time. By rail: Kodigehalli Rail Way Station , Hebbal Rail Way Station are the very nearby railway station to Byatarayanapura. By road: Bangalore , Yelahanka , Bommanahalli , Krishnarajapura , Kengeri , Hosakote , Dasarahalli , Devanahalli , Dod Ballapur , Magadi , Nelamangala are the nearby by towns to Bangalore having road connectivity to Bangalore and Byatarayanapura.
