PORTFOLIO ADITYA SAWALKAR
Aditya Sawalkar
Hello, I’m Aditya
Hey, I am Aditya Sawalkar, an architecture student and an aspiring learner. A design should be like a poem. Felt and experienced by everyone that walks by. The varying possibilities of structures have been eye and mind catchers for me. Some small, some bright. Some fluid, some tight. Just decoding the reason for a design always ignites the passion in me. Me and the surroundings have been sharpening myself for the last four years. The following is the collection of projects that I did, designed in my four academic years of evolving into an Architect.

3 Institute of Liberal & Vocational Studies LOCATION : Udaipur, Rajasthan
With hill ranges in vicinity, Standing on the slope with soil around, With the lake by side.
An institute where subjects like web design, gaming design, photography, creative writing, automobile design, product design, application design and interface and many such `Non-Main Stream’ courses will be offered for long and short term. The very vision of this institute will be to enhance one’s capabilities and hone the skills with best of industry experienced instructors/speakers and to develop the thinking to design out of the box. Since not many colleges and institutes offer such courses, this institute will be unique. The Client wishes and envisions the design of the architectural spaces to `inspire’ the person who comes in contact with it either visually or physically. The campus should feel secure and yet open and spacious, modern, with all new technologies and should also inculcate positive human values. Apart from the learnings that one will go through, the campus should exude the motto – “Skills, Innovation and Pride” 17

TOURIST FACILITAION CENTRE LOCATION : Pandavleni, Nashik
Kin to the lying hill, Meditating in the caves with stories around, Holding the nature in arms.
The Pandavleni Caves is a popular tourist destination. It is situated on a hill and tourists require to undertake a short trek to reach it. There is an existing rudimentary infrastructure catering to these tourists, but it is not a planned facility. The ASI now wants to develop a tourist center where rest amenities can be provided for tourists before and after their visit. Along with this, the center is also looking to increase awareness about the history of this area and a conscious effort to make visitors realize the importance of looking after and caring for our historical structures. It was an intersting project due to its historically rich location.

RESEARCH GRANT Meeting the morning sun, We entered a forest town, Through levelled terrain, With water and greens around. Smelled the wind salty, With hearts of people’s minds, Walking on red laterite, Serene is what you find. Everything stood perfect, Until the cyclones strong, Flew away the settlements, With trees and life around. What stood was vernacular, Battling the violent storms, Mostly the trees & vegetation, Sheilded the spaces around. Can these people present, Retain what was their, Or do we need to be ready, For guest cyclones & flare? -Aditya Sawalkar
37
ON GOING RESEARCH PROJECT Places: Kelshi & Anjarle of Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra, India. Aim: To study settlements in the Konkan region concerning natural calamities such as cyclones and to propose sustainable design and construction solutions. Documentation format: Research journal/book, Video.
DOCUMENTATION
We reached a place not easy to find, Where network sleeps and wakes the mind, Entered the village perhaps detaching our blinds, We were curious what lay in the line. Cool breeze from the lake, Went trough our hair, The hornbills from the trees, Showed their yellow beak and flare. In the dense vegetation, Stood tall the temple, With every detail possible, Had experiences ample. Speaking of the building, It was cool and tranquil, Had a beautiful roof, Enter and your thoughts entangle. Sticking to the temple, Was the lake cool and calm, Had beautiful birds chirping, Surrounded by grass and palm. The fish in the stream, Kissed our city sunken feet, It was present from the start, It’s good we finally meet! Overall it was a trip, Like a journey with a lovely song, Come here once, Some of you stays here all along. -Aditya Sawalkar
39
Walking this road taught standing, Diving deep again with and without scars Till the skyline flattens plane.
