Meaning  The word photography is derived from two Greek words,

Photos means “Light”

Graphos means “Drawing”

Photography literally means “Drawing with Light”.


What is Professional Photography?

“ Professional photography can be understood as an art & science of capturing images using technology to create amazing pictures with incredible quality. ”

“There are always two people in every picture the photographer & the viewer.”


Types of Photography On the basis of different style of images, typically Photography can be classified into:

Portrait Photography

ď ą Portrait photography refers to a picture of a person or a group of people, usually when they are front facing towards the camera looking directly at it. A photo taken by Neil Armstrong on the moon or a passport photo falls under portrait photography .

Landscape Photography

ď ą Landscape Photography consists of simply just capturing miles of land from a standing point ,by looking down from a raised view at the landscape. It is mostly used during outdoors, looking down at a wide stretch of land from a higher point in order to get the targeted piece of land in the frame.

Fashion Photography

ď ą Fashion Photography is used to promote different types of clothing in an attempt to sell it to the public meaning the pictures need to be attractive for the consumer (usually a model is used for the attractiveness for men and women). It is used mostly in studios and photo booths where they can get the best quality picture in the best color as the background would be a clear plain color to help the product stand out for the customer. ď ą Photo Journalism is the art of capturing images to capture a news

story. There has been many famous journalistic photos showing a story through an image. For example a photo taken by Eddie Adams. Some of world famous Journalist Photographers are Robert Frank, David Burnett and Phillip Jones Griffins .

ď ą Advertisement photography involves taking pictures for

commercial use i.e. where company’s have there new products to be launched or advertised in the a productive manner. It is also used in corporate brochures and leaflets, menus in cafes and restaurants, and similar commercial uses where
