Open Conflict in the Horn

As Conflict Erupts, Boura Arrei accuses the Kingdom of Sahil's army of attacking peacekeeping forces, and the United Nations Security Council calls for peace in a resolution to the crisis. The war escalates during the summer, with troops being used to attack civilian targets, including farms, while also killing civilians and attacking the civilian population, including the elderly and children fleeing into the night. This war breaks out on the first of May. A ceasefire between both sides is broken after the Kingdom of Sahil uses helicopters to bomb farms, killing 127 civilians and 68 soldiers, as well as reported chemical weapons on several villages. The international community calls on Sahil to abandon its military operation against civilians, but it remains unclear what form the government will take to avoid further casualties.

Within the past week the KSAF has moved troops into the territory of Boura Arrei. There are reports of skirmishes between the KSAF and BAAF ground forces and unconfirmed reports of ethnic cleansing and the use of chemical weapons against the civilian population of southern Boura Arrei. Due to the unlawful invasion and occupation of Boura Arrei the United Nations has issued a resolution requiring the Kingdom of Sahil to withdraw all forces from the sovereign nation of Boura Arrei and has authorized member states to use any and all means allowed by treaty and international law to gain the compliance of the Kingdom of Sahil with this resolution. The Kingdom of Sahil denies the demands of this resolution by demanding that all NATO troops cease operations, withdraw to their bases and all bases, and immediately release all detainees held on their territory.

Boura Arrrei additionally has accused the KSAF of using chemical weapons against the civilians of southern Boura Arrei by shelling the villages of Boura al-'Amala, Boura al-'Arfalou, and Boura al-'Giroun who have been hit by artillery, as told by a Boura Arrei spokesman.

"It is with this in mind and in light of the actions of the KSAF that they could not only continue to use chemical weapons but also engage in any other forms of attacks that would be inconsistent with the principles of international law and the principles of international humanitarian law," he told an extraordinary UN General Assembly session.
