I am thrilled to be promoting this magnificent Victorian treasure found in the most charming and welcoming town of Rossville. It is hard to know where just to begin with this amazing home. My reaction was love at first sight. It just takes one look at the grand front porch framed with amazing architectural details to be blown away. Looking at it, you wonder if it is too good to be true. Open the front door, you realize that the inside does not disappoint. Every where you move in the home, you will notice all the little details that make the home so special. One can tell that every feature of the home was added with lots of forethought and love. You will never find another one like this. I would describe the home as a generational home, one that is passed down from generation to generation. This beauty not only has the space, but also the layout to host large parties and family gatherings. With the endless options of social gathering spaces, it is just waiting for the next family to move in and start making precious memories. If you are not familiar with Rossville, I can help

you with that. Before stepping foot in the town, I did research on the housing market. Immediately I noticed that there doesn’t seem to be much movement. People move here and stay. So people obviously love the town or they would leave. My curiosity was peaked, so I started to doing research online, drove around the town, and took a stroll around chatting with people. Rossville has a charming small town feel. It is friendly. Driving into town, I was greeted by their Welcome sign. Listed is their town motto: Where you feel at Home. That motto fits with what I have experienced. Coming up 421 after passing the Welcome Sign, you see the Rossville Schools on the left. The common theme found from online research and conversations with residents is that the schools are good and they believe the children are getting a great education. That is a definite attraction for homebuyers. After passing the schools, I parked on Main Street to check things out. I found a variety of restaurants within walking distance for residents. I spoke to a group of 3 men who came from Lafayette

just to enjoy Treece’s Restaurant’s daily special, but they made sure I knew to definitely try out their catfish. Another man noticed me taking pictures and joked I should take his picture. These people don’t know me, but they were all welcoming and friendly. After touring Main Street, I explored some of the recreational options. I visited Angel Hills Golf Course, although I don’t golf, I did appreciate the beauty of the golf course. After speaking with Bryan in the clubhouse, I learned that you can host parties and corporate events at Angel Hills and there are plans to expand the deck overlooking golf course and add an awning to allow more people to enjoy it. It must be popular because he mentioned a group of men come every Thursday from Danville, IL (yes, from out of state) to golf here. When I asked Bryan what he loves about Rossville, he said it had great schools and loved the smalltown feel. Drove down the road to the Town Park. It is packed with amenities: lighted basketball courts, soccer field, softball field, baseball field, walking path, playground, benches and swings for adults to enjoy as the kids play, a shelter with picnic tables, and beautiful landscaping. One could easily spend the day there and enjoy the great outdoors. Next up, Flour Mill Bakery. This is a family run bakery I had heard of and wanted to make sure I didn’t miss. I spoke with one of the owners about what they love about Rossville. She mentioned loving the small town feel and walking around the town and knowing people. She feels it is safe and everyone cares about each other. Apparently, every morning the same group of men sit at the same table and have coffee together in the bakery. No way, I was leaving the bakery without a treat, so I asked the young teens working their favorites and had a
wide selection to share at home. They were all delicious. A few more spots I wanted to visit, but ran out of time. Top of that list was a nearby orchard. Maybe next time. After a fun afternoon exploring, I can honestly say this city girl did feel welcomed by the many strangers I met and Rossville did feel like home. This is definitely a place I believe would be a perfect peaceful place to retreat to after a long day’s of work. A nice place to rest and recharge. Rossville’s location allows you to have that calm peaceful retreat, but also make it super easy to get to many nearby larger towns all around. So really you can have the best of two worlds, you can drive a short distance to get in the hustle and the bustle of a big city and then come home to your sweet sanctuary. It is a perfect commute to so many cities, that you could easily work nearby and then get home quickly. The house is amazing and I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Here are just a few highlights: • Over 8,500 Square Feet • 6 gas fireplaces • Grand gourmet kitchen open to a large breakfast area • .79 acres
