THE FESTIVAL Estrella Levante SOS 4.8 is festival that was born in 2008 and each year is celebrated in Murcia normally the first weekend of May. This festival, mainly destined to young people, has an international importance and it is characterized because in its lineup there is not just live music, but it offers also art expositions and conferences that invite the visitors to think about life, art, and music. The music part of this event pretends to reflect the avant-garde of the contemporary
music.

The main objective of this festival is to cover
several music tastes in the young surroundings. For that reason, the festival counts with four different stages: Estrella Levante, JagĂŤrmeister, Auditorium, and Rom Brugal.
The artistic part of the festival reflects the modern world and its philosophy. The main objective of this part of the festival is to transform the environment of the festival into a heart of international and national culture. The thinking also takes part in this festival. Each year, economists, scientists and philosophers go to the festival, and invite the visitors to think in the world where we

FESTIVAL THIS YEAR This year the festival will be celebrated the days 3rd and 4th of May, opening again the festivals summer season. The price of the tickets will be 34 euros.

ACCOMODATION
María Baños Andreu Business Areas December 2012 Estrella Levante SOS 4.8 provides to the visitors a camping zone in the north of the city. However the most common accommodation are the rural houses. This kind houses offer a special SOS pack with transport to the festival and leisure activities like paintball, horse riding and rafting. OFF-FESTIVAL As a novelty in the year 2011, the organizing committee decided to add to the SOS activities a Tapas route by the most famous Murcian bars. Furthermore, Saturday and Sunday morning, there are a series of free concert in the famous “Plaza de las Flores”. Those concerts were baptized with the name of “Aperitivos SOS”. VISITORS Each year this festival received more than 30,000 people between 18 years to 30 years. The most of these visitors come from Spain (domestic tourism). However, there are also a lot of visitors that come from England, Italy, France and Germany (international tourism).
VOLUNTEERS Estrella Levante SOS 4.8 would not be possible without the hundreds of volunteers that the University of Murcia provides. Each year, hundreds of students of the university help in the organization and management of the festival. For that reason, and as a reward, they are allowed, after their shift ends, to go to see the concerts and expositions for free.
