Migration Adults (Men and Women) At the end of the session, the participants will know about: ‐ the number of people leaving their village and the places where they go according to the graphic ‐ safe migration ‐ number of the remaining members in the village, as well as the reading, writing and arithmetic calculating practices. markers, flipcharts, tapes

1. How to Facilitate

1.A. Commencement of Activities  The facilitator asks the participants to sit in circle shape. Greet and welcome them.  The facilitator calls each participant’s name loudly, and ticks the attendance list.  Review the previous lesson or its message and action plan.  The facilitator reads the purpose of the message, and explains it slowly and clearly.  Ask brainstorming questions to the participants to attract their attention to the new topic. How to make a diagram countries  Draw a circle in which we write the word “Our Village” or draw a picture of community.  Then, ask questions about some past Go to other Our Village stories or ideas related to the topic provinces “Migration”. 2. Ideas for discussion Question 1: What is Migration? Some answers: Migration is the displacement from a native village to other places (capitals, provincial cities or overseas) to earn revenue.  In what season do they migrate?  Where do they go?  Why do they migrate? To do what jobs?  How long do they stay there?  Totally, how many people stay permanently in the village?

After knowing this data, we discuss the cause and effect of their migration. We have to tell our families clearly about our workplace and accommodation. We have to know clearly the background of the person who leads us to work there. We have to think about possible risks. Do not pay the recruiter before getting the job.

Activities  Prepare the schedule again in order to know that they participate in the session regularly.  Prepare a proposal for a technical training session as required.  Increase the crop planting and animal raising. Give advice to the members who want to migrate.  Should we know in advance in order to have safe migration?  What must we know? What must we have?  What kind of job do we mostly have? Some possible answers: ‐ You have to know clearly the place where we go to live (address) and workplace’s telephone number.
