Applying his unique eye for exceptional craftsmanship, Sassoon has collaborated with the spectacular Parham House in West Sussex, to stage a panorama of new works by his celebrated roster of contemporar y ar tists. In a period with no ar t fairs, the project fosters a dialogue between the precious objects and the textures of the interior architectural features, while the blooming seasonal gardens provide a lush backdrop to a fur ther selection of vibrant new works of ar t. Reflecting the rich collecting spirit of the house - which includes one of the finest and most impor tant collections of 17th centur y embroider y in the countr y - the display intelligently introduces contemporar y ceramics, glass, and silver to the antique textiles, furniture, and paintings. Issue One ‘Adrian Sassoon at Parham, A House of Histor y’ is the first of three distinct catalogues which introduce the viewer to different aspects of the House, garden and collection.
