CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK The able city is a proposal for Södertålje, an industrial city in Sweden. In this design project, the industry - Scania - is part of the city and the daily life. The Able city has a circular economy and flexible spaces and buildings, allowing different appropriations, residents and buildings. Currentrly, the city is segregated by the road structure. The industrial buildings are too big and there is no walking connection between the city center and the Scania area.
6
ADRIANA DE LIMA SAMPAIO
The proposal aims to enhance the green, mainly though the waterfront and also in existing parking areas. The blue system will be connected to the lake inside Scania, giving more space to water and avoiding floods. Densification and pedestrian’s priorization will be placed between the current city center and Scania, making the urban fabric more cohesive and connected. The big industrial blocks will be broken in order to achieve a more human scale.

GREEN ROOFS Local food production will be added on Scania’s buildings roofs. The products can be used both for workers and comunity. Also, the waste will be managed into bio-fuel. PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS Panels that will generate energy for the buildings. GREEN AND BLUE AREAS Parking areas are no longer in use, the big part of this spaces became green areas. The East side has more wild green connections, as it is less dense and at the west side of the water the green areas are mainly public spaces. The green connections enhance the possibility of flora and fauna to spread, also because the small animals and insects can walk between the bigger green spaces safely. The speed of the roads was reduced in order to ensure animals’ and pedestrians’ safety. The new blue connection allows an increase in the volume of water without flooding.

Section AA’
The ABLE Center The image at the left shows how Scania field would look like in the future. A green area with public spaces where both residents, visitors and workers could enjow nature and the industrial production would be part of the city's environment. In this proposal, it is aimed to create a circular economy, it is important to optimize the existing infrastructure. For that, existing buildings were transformed and adapted to the new necessities; new buildings were located between existing ones; new buildings that have the possibility for future densification were implemented. DENSIFICATION STRATEGIES NEW BUILDINGS
The new typology can be build in phases, as it has some voided areas between the masses. This makes the access to the housing easier, as the price is lower when it is acquired. In the 12
future, the resident can upgrade their houses, or use the space for another purpose - as a garden, for example. As the building will receive a wide range of residents and housing

sizes, it also have shared spaces and facilities. The image at the lefts shows the first building phase and the second shows possibilities of further densigication.
BIG BOXES
Industrial Big Boxes will be open in order to achieve a more human scale and the walls will be transformed in more transparent surfaces incresing connectivity between inside and outsive
and creating a more interesting environment. Pedestrian paths will be included connecting the green roofs and allowing people to watch what is happening inside the buildings.

GAMLA STAN NY AGAIN MAKE
This was a group project, however all the graphic materials presented in this portfolio were developed by the author. Goup: Alix Lereculey Emma Pohlman Gabriel Manne Julia Malmsten Margherita Ciccozzi
The goal in this project was to imagine how Gamla Stan could be in 2070 in order to be more sustainable. Stockholm has green areas, mainly outside of the central part of the city.
The group decided to focus in the Blue and Green infrastructures, spreading nature throughout Stockholm, from north to south. For that the city's heart Galma Stan - would be transformed into a greener core. The map in the left shows the transformation of the natural environment from a more wild landcape (green) to a more urban green area (shown in yellow). The driagram shows how Gamla Stan would be both central as a green connection and also as a blue leisure area.

THE VISION
The colages are a conceptual representation on how Gamla Stan could be transformed into a greener area - Ny Stan..

15
THE PROPOSAL The Masterplan shows how the green would be located in the islands. Floating structures will be added to preserv the historial buildings. The Centralbron is now only for bikes and pedestrians and it is a green park.
16
ADRIANA DE LIMA SAMPAIO
In the east coast we proposed greenhouses for urban edible gardens and other indoor activities in the floating structures, so the area would be used all year long.
In Riddaholmen's side, there will be new housing buildings and a public pool for leisure. ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN DESIGN PORTFOLIO

POP THE ISOLATION This course was based in individual explorations and group project for the final result/ urban instalation. All the graphic materials presented in this portfolio were developed by the author.
The goal in this project was to transform spaces in order to promote safe landscapes and urban environments during the COVID pandemic.

My personal process and exploration was more interested in questioning the current situation and social interactions. The pictures show the process book, made with different POP UP techniques, to create a connection with the instalations' purpose, to "POP THE ISOLATION".
PROCESS AND DISCUSSIONS
THE SELF LIGHT How the self light would take place in Medborgarplatsen? The distopic idea that every person should wear their own light over their heads, showing others the distance that should be respected through the projections on the floor.

HOW TO CONNECT PEOPLE?
Group picture in a zoom meeting.
The group decided to have a landscape instalation that aimed to connect people keeping a safe distance.
20
ADRIANA DE LIMA SAMPAIO
POP THE ISOLATION proposed three interactive objects. Each one of them would explore one human sensation.
TO SEE
We arrived at a solution that used mirrors. You can see people that are far away or even places that were not in the reach of the eyes before.
Experimentation with mirrors at SLU and conceptual collage in Sergels Torg.
"Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who talks to inanimate objects most of all?"

21
TO HEAR To talk and hear others, people can record a message they want to say and listen to messages from the past - left by others. For this intervention,
22
we left a voice recorder unattended on a table outside SLU Campus building, and some users left their messages to others.

23
TO TOUCH The first idea was to create a "condom wall", where people could touch each other in a safe way. The final instalation was build in Sergels Torg and stayed in
24
the popular square for two days. It was a bubble wrap wall, and visitors were able to pop the bubbles and the isolation.

ARCHITECTONIC ENVIRONMENT
The first step was to list of all spaces needed in this renew and from this it was possible to make suggestions about uses changes and creation of new spaces. The new proposed areas were arrange into a bubble system in order to visualize the best spatial scheme, making sure to approximate related areas and create more public or private zones. The public areas are open to the community and visitors are welcome and desirable. Private areas

need some control in the entrance - as students, staff and professors use it mainly. Public areas are near from the public street and from the BRT pathway. Some facilities such as coffee shop, library and exhibitions; invite the community to the building. The area in between is a meeting point, where students and others can use. The students' center is in the middle of the building, enhancing casual meetings.
Some guidelines were followed: 1. To preserve the existing tress; 2. To respect the current paths and natural elements (i.n. the swampy area); 3. To mix public and private spaces.

DESIGN PROPOSAL
The architectural blocks were disposed creating a courtyard. This arrangement helps to keep privacy in the building, and turns the building's facades to the east site, where it receives the morning sun. More private areas are located in the second floor, restricting the access to regular users. The metallic path allows the water to pass under (when flooded). 34

A SUSTAINABLE OCCUPATION This study and proposal area is located in Florianópolis, a city in southern Brazil. The natural geography of the city created an urban sprawl with small centers. The project area is currently the region with the biggest population grouth and it has developed faster comparing to other areas because of public and private investments in infrastructure, however its grouth is spread and espontaneous, without urban planning. The presence of urban voids creates descontinuous urban tissues, demaging the fluity of the city. View 4 36

LANDSCAPE ANALYSIS The north of the Santa Catarina's island was originally occupated by azorians immigrants, and now has its descendents and many new residents that came from different parts of the country. They still keep the rural tradition in many areas of the island’s northernt part. In addition, there are flooded areas, mangroves and there is an important river (Papaquara river)

- creating this amazing natual landscape that should be preserved. Furthermore, recently there is a new technological development (Sapiens Park) and it is undeniable that this is a new central area for the city, with a lot of facilities, urban infrastructure and public buildings that should be considered in the planning.
The goal is to create new connection suitable for

Residential area with local businesses. The urban tissue is really disconnected with very long streets, making it difficult to walk between
the blocks and creating an urban fabric without many connections.
Residential area, still has few streets. The urban tissue has “fish bone shape”, which is a common kind of occupation in the
island, with very long streets and no crosscutting connection. This occupation is an heritage of the historic rural occupation.

- To create a linear park surrounding Papaquara river, with open areas and diverse use. - Ensure that low income population is able to stay, though the implantation of AIS (Social Interest Areas).
- To use the strategy of smaller occupancy rates at the environmentally fragile lands. - To change the road section to a more local street and reduce its speed limit.
