Biography

Meet Adriana Gabaldoni, a graduate student of interior architecture at Florida International University. Adriana, born and raised in Venezuela, started her architecture journey at Broward College where she gained appreciation for many art and design forms, including photography. Halfway into her architecture associates she realized the impact interior built environments have on humans, mentally and physically. This is when her passion for interior design took off and decided that turning ordinary interiors into memorable unique experiences was her dream career. Her efficiency, teamwork skills and quick adaptation in a fast-paced environment ensured her role as a project manager at KasaMia Interiors, a high-end residential interior design firm. Here Adriana was able to explore her design, and problem-solving skills. Adriana learned her customer service skills in her early college years when she worked at a deli shop, and later, at a water park as a lifeguard. Besides design, Adriana is passionate about travel, beauty, and photography.

Concept Statement Hospitals tend to be a place that people are afraid to visit.

Warm and cozy wood accents

The objective is to create a wholesome experience that deviates from the stereotypes of healthcare facilities.

Textiles with patterns for contrast

Implementing an earth tone color palette such as blue or brown, influenced by natural elements, are serene colors that help calm the mind, slow down the heart rate, lower blood pressure and reduce anxiety. The organic forms of nature are applied through the surface of the walls, furniture, and patterns. The curves soften the eyes’ view and allow the structure to blend with the environment.

Durable and easy to clean laminate surfaces

These features assist in creating a healing facility that unifies the features of healthcare design with the warm and comforting feeling of hospitality design. Prioritizing the physical and mental health of patients and reducing the stress in the staff members daily routine.

KASAMIA INTERIORS WORK EXPERIENCE June 2020 - October 2021

Job Position|Project Manager Job Description|During my time at KasaMia Interiors I performed multiple roles: Use computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD) to prepare floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, and elevations. Create design concepts for projects, including selection of materials and FF&E items. Prepare organized inspiration boards and design boards for client presentations with detailed information utilizing Photoshop, and PowerPoint. Prepare estimates, invoices and purchase orders in Ivy and keep the clients profile up to date by entering payments and creating purchase orders and payments to vendors. Take and keep track of construction progress of the projects assigned.

AutoCAD Design Drawings Canals Residence (Kitchen) One of my main tasks in KasaMia was to produce design drawings using AutoCAD. I would draft floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, and elevations. I would start by following a sketch that was given to me by the creative director. Once the drawing was finished and approved by the director I would send it to the respective contractor.

For this kitchen we had to design a range hood, relocate outlets and light switches, and specify the relocation of speakers on the ceiling.

AutoCAD Design Drawings Canals Residence (Bathrooms) These are the design drawings for a guest bathroom. This bathroom was already in construction when the client asked for our service. The client requested to maintain the wall tile, the tub, the location of the toilet and sink. Previous to drafting in AutoCAD I went to the site and took measurements of the entire bathroom to accurately recreate the elevations in the software.

Millwork Detail Drawings Canals Residence (Walk in Pantry) Detailed drawings were a major part of our service as a high end design firm. I used AutoCAD to draft detailed millwork drawings that would later be sent to the contractors. These are the detail drawings for a walk in pantry. The client requested to include as much storage as possible, lower drawers so her kids could access their snacks and open shelves to easily visualize products. INTERIOR DESIGN CONSULTANT:
