PROJECT 1

3D TO 2D STUDY STUDENT WERE ASSIGN TO SELECT ONE OBJECT. ALSO, STUDENT HAVE TO STUDY THE GIST OF THE OBJECT THAT WE SELECTED . IN THIS PROJECT INVOLES THE ANALYSIS OF 3D OBJECTS AND TRANSFORMATION INTO A 2D COMPOSITION OF GEOMETRICAL SHAPES. IN THIS EXERCISE STUDENT WILL LEARN FORM, SPACE AND ODER AND HOW THEY RELATE TO DESIGN LANGUAGE AND PRONCIPLES.

TASK 1 : EACH STUDENT WILL START BY CHOOSING AN OBJECT, EITHER MANMADE OR OBJECT FROM NATURE, FOR EXAMPLE FRUITS AND VEGETABLE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS NATURE KNOWN AS A RICH SOURSE OF DESIGN INSPIRATION AND HAS MOTIVATED MANY DESIGNERS AND USED AS REFERENCES FOR FORM MAKING AND DESIGN EXPLORATION IN THEIR FUTURE DESIGN EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT. TASK 2 : THE 3D ANALYSIS WILL INVOLVE THE OVERALL OBJECT FROM ITS EXPLORATION FROM UP TO ITS INTERIOR DETAILS. AFTERSTUDYING THE EXTERIOR, STUDENT WILL CUT THE SELECTED OBJECT INTO SCLICES OR SEGMENTS. EVERY SINGLE SLICE OF THE OBJECT WILL THEN BEEN DRAWN ACCURATELY ON INDIVIDUAL PERSPECS, AND ARRANGED IN A ROW WITH GAPS IN BETWEEN TO CREATE A TRANSPARENT LAYER OF THE INTERIOR OF THE OBJECT. STUDENT WILL CONDUCT THEIR ANALYSIS USING THE TRANSPARENT LAYERS, AND LATER TRANSFORM A SEGMENT OF THE ORIGINAL OBJECT INTO 2D, AND THEN A 3D GEOMETRICAL COMPOSITION. THE FINAL PRODUCT WILL BE A 3D COMPOSITION MODEL.

PROJECT 2 THE STRONG OF BONDING

3D TO 2D STUDY

THIS PROJECT WILL DEVELOP STUDENTS’ EARLY FORM-MAKING SKILLS INVOLVING TRANSFORMATION OF 2D TO 3D COMPOSITION INVOLVING A GIVEN SET OF 2D GEOMETRICAL SHAPSE AND RULES ( 9 SQUARE GRID ). IN THIS EXERCISE STUDENT WILL DEVELOP 2D AND 3D COMPOSITIONS WHILE DEVELOPING DEEPER UNDERSTANDING ABOUT FORM, SPACE AND ODER AND APPLLYING TO DESIGN LANGUAGE AND PRINCIPLES

TASK 1 : IN THIS EXERCISE, STUDENT WILL PRODUCE A 2D COMPOSITION USING A SET OF GEOMETRICAL SHAPES INCLUDING A SQUARE, A CIRCLE AND A TUBE (TENTATIVE). IN THIS GAME-LIKE EXERCISE , THEY WILL MANIPULATE THEESE SHAPES WHILE APPLYING THE DESIGN LANGUAGE AND FOLLOWING THE ARCHITECTURAL PRINCIPLES AND DESIGN LANGUAGE WILL BE GIVEN TO GUIDE STUDENTS. THE PODUCT FOR THIS STAGE IS A 2d DRAWINGS. TASK 2 : USING THEIR 2D COMPOSITION, STUDENTS WILL BEGIN TO EXPLORE SPATIAL DESIGN AS THEY DEVELOP THEM INTO 3D. WHILE DEVELOPING THE SPATIAL FORM, THEY WILL FUTHER APPLY KNOWLEDGE OF DESIGN PRINCIPLES INCLUDING BALANCE, SCALE AND ORDER. THIS WILL SERVE THEM WITH THE FORM MAKING SKILLS FOR THE NEXT EXCERCUSE.

THE STORY BEHIND TH PROJECT : BOND IS A CLOSE CONNECTION JOINING TWO OR MORE PROPLE. THE SAME SQUARE ARE STRONG AND STABLE WHEN THEY ARE IN A BIG GROUP. THE SQUARE IS UNSTABLE AND WEEK WHEN THEY ARE IN A SMALL GROUP. THE SQUARE IS FERGILE INTO TWO PIECES WHEN THERE ARE ALONE. THIS SHOW THAT A STRONG BOND IS CREATE IN BIG GROUP OR TEAM THAT MAKES THEM VERY STRONG.

3D habitation sculpture THIS FINAL PROJECT WILL INTEGRATE ALL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERINCE FROM PROJECT 1 AND PROJECT 2 IN FUTHER DEVELOPING STUDENTS FORM MAKING SKILL. THE PROJECT INVOLVES DESIGNING A 3D HABITATION SCULPTURE COMBINING THE 2D AND 3D COMPOSITION CONDUCTED EARLIER. THIS EXCERSISE WILL EXPOSE STUDENTS TO DESIGN CONCEPT.

TASK : IN THIS EXERCISE, STUDENTS WILL DESIGN A SCULPTURE UP TO DETAILS, THAT WILL ONLY PROVIDE AN IDEA OF HABITATION ADRESSING TO THE ECOLOGICAL AND SUSTAINABLILITY ISSUES EXPLORED IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SUSTAINABILITY CLASS. IN THIS FINAL PROJECT, STUDENTS WILL LEARN TO DEVELOP A DESIGN CONCEPT AS A DESIGN GENERATOR AS THEY COMBINE/ EXTRECT ELEMENTS FROM PROJECT 1 AND PROJECT 2 INVOLVING A 3D COMPOSITION OF STUDIED OBJECT AND 3D COMPOSITION OF GEOMETRICAL SHAPES. USING THE STRATEGIES AND EXPERIENCE FROM EARLIER PROJECTS, THEY WILL UNDERGRO A DESIGN DEVELOPMENT PROCESS OF INTEGRATING THESE 2 ELEMENTS. THE CHALLENGE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO COMBINE IN HARMONY THE ELEMENTS OF PROJECT 1 AND 2 IN DEVELOPING ONE SINGLE SCULPTURE THAT IS REFINED AND ODERED IN ITS FORM AND DETAILING

IN THIS PROJECT, THERE IS INTEGRATION BETWEEN PROJECT 1 AND PROJECT 2. IN ODER TO MAINTAIN THE CONCEPT AND THE INTEGRATION BETWEEN PROJECT 1 AND 2 , A LOT OF STUDY AND REFINING HAVE BEEN DONE

ISSUES ON SITES : CLIMATE CHANGE – INCREASES IN THE TEMPERATURE OF THE ATMOSPHERE

SITES LOCATION : SETIA ALAM, MALAYSIA

PROBLEM ON SITE : THE EFFECT OF THE CLIMATE CHANGE WOULD GIVE AN IMPACT TO THE SOCIAL ACTIVITIES ON SITE. PEOPLE COME TO THE SITES ONLY IN THE EVERNING WHEN THE WEATHER IS CLOUDY. AT NIGHT, THE PLACE IS DARK. NO PEOPLE WENT TO THE SITES. PROBLEM SOLVING : BUID A SUSTAINABLE AND ENVIROMENTAL SCULPTURE TO REDUCE THE TEMPERATURE SURROUNDING AND ADD SOME LIGHT TO LIGHTEN THE DARK IN THE NIGHT

CONCLUSION From the first project, we were exposed on how to appreciate original ideas of design through analyzing the designer’s thoughts, idea and concept. We are also interduced to the basic vocabularies of design and their importance. We learnt how to analyze information and express our findings in compositions, drawings, even 3D models. Other than that, we managed to introduced, display and present our development of 2D pattern into 3D model at the same time, nurturing our creativity. In addition, this course also trains us on our workmanship on building models and keeping our work clean and organized. In general, it made me realise that I have to be serious in my work to excel in this field of study. It also give me an insight of how the program is as a whole. Other than that, it is also polishes up my confidence and communication skills, as I have to present my work infront of other people. It also trains me to be creative, and punctual upon completing the tasks.
