I’ve been to almost as many places as my luggage

The practicalities • Flight duration CPH-PRG: 80 min • Getting from the Airport to the Old town takes about 35-45 min with public transport. A bus running every 15min will drop you off next to the metro station (green line) which will takes you to the city centre.

• Ticket valid for 90min costs less than 10 DKK and you can just buy one with a credit card from the machine at the bus stop.

• Currency - better bring their own currency (CZK) with you. Euro is accepted though not wide spread.

The Old Town

Luxury Vintage Cars available for a tour in the Old Town There we were - Prague’s old town on a Saturday morning at around 9 o’clock looking for an opened café.

The city was just waking up with only a few people walking the streets, mostly tourists armed with cameras, waiters arranging the tables

of the line of cafeterias along the main street and ladies dressed in Czech traditional clothes inside Trdlo pavilions preparing the doe for baking trdelník - type of a split cake, where the doe is wrapped around a stick, then grilled and covered with

sugar. Yet, we could not just sit anywhere, so we took a walk while the cafés open, making a funny noise dragging our suitcases on the paved roads.

There are many places you can dine with an amazing view towards the Astronomical clock. Five star hotels are nested one to each other, each with a restaurant in front of them where you could drink a cup of coffee, a cocktail or have a dinner and try a cold draft local beer - Staropramen (the name translates as “old spring”, water source).

For a small fee, you can take an elevator up to the top of the Old Town Hall where the only operational Astronomical clock - Orloj is placed.

Choices vary from traditional Czech meals to Spanish and Italian cuisine, where the prices are really down to earth and the portions - huge.

folks have been applauding for this attraction for 600 years.

During the hot summer days the restaurants have even water spray fans to help their visitors coop with the heat.

Church of Our Lady

Disney inspiration

One is the Gothic Church of Our Lady Before Tyn, with a roof constructed in the 1450’s, featuring three gigantic spires that majestically pierce the sky.

The tower is 66 meters tall and offers a Very beautifully lighted during the night view of Prague city as you walk around. looking like a castle from a Disney fairy tale, doesn’t it? Well, guess what - the A crowd gets gathered every time Cinderella’s castle was indeed inspired when a round hour approaches to by this gorgeous building. watch “The Walk of the Apostles” -

A funny fact - old story says that something bad will happen to the city if the clock stops working.

The rumour has it that Hitler was planning to turn The Old Town square to amusement park after the WW2 and the scientist, Wernher von Braun, he was working with was the person who inspired Walt Disney for having Disneyland built later on.

Charles Bridge

Luxury Vintage Cars available for a tour in the Old Town This old stone bridge opens an amazing view over the Vltava river, where you could board on a ship for an hour of sailing and sightseeing.

Charles bridge was built during the 15th century and has its name after Charles IV who is believed to have placed its first stone.The bridge had

30 gothic statues on both sides, now replaced by replicas, which you can enjoy while crossing it.There are also a lot of artists who can draw a caricature of you for less than 10min and lots of locals selling souvenirs.

Here you will also find the statue of St John Nepomuk, polished to shine 6

by people touching it and making a wish. Do not mistake it with the dog and the woman (Queen)! On the same side is a small golden cross marking the spot where the saint’s body was thrown into the Vltava river. - this is where you make a wish
