Outside of Architecture I enjoy a variety of sports and fitness. I have always had a passion for the creative arts and despite no longer being involved with theatre and acting, I regularly enjoy trips to the theatre and concerts. When the oppurtunity presents itself, I am always eager to travel and experience new cultures.

PROJECT Urban Urban Cultural Centre, Lille Stage 3 - Spring Project
The brief of this project was based on a real competition won by King Kong Architects, to design an urban cultural centre to cater for the movement of Hip Hop in the French city of Lille. My proposal embraces Lille’s industrial past and acknowledges its history of bitter struggles between the forces of its capital and the industrial workers. With the use of familiar architectural forms and materials present in the surrounding vernacular architecture, I’ve created a building with dynamic spaces that glorify these often weathered, harsh industrial architectural forms.

PROJECT Modular
Residential Apartments, Margate Stage 3 Autumn Project
This brief ran parallel with a module studying architectural movements during Modernism and required us to draw on inspiration from a particular movement to design a modular residential building. Given the state of Margate’s corroded architecture and economy that once relied on its tourist industry, my design aimed to provide new direction and style. Drawing inspiration from the pure and honest values of the De Stijl movement, my proposal aimed to be totally estranged from the surrounding vernacular architecture much like the Turner Contemporary.

PROJECT Roof
Gridshell Roof System Study Stage 2 Minor Spring Project
The task at hand for this project was to investigate a particular type of roofing system and create your own design. I chose to study gridshell roof systems due to their capabilities of spanning huge distances without internal supports. Using my 3D AutoCad capabilities I created a sinusoidal form from scratch and was able to determine the exact dimensions of each structural member which allowed me to create a flawless laser cut file. The final result was a 1:50 model where the members simply slotted together.

Back in 2007 Open Architecture designed a high end mansion on an estate in Chislehurst for a client, the client returned and asked if we could construct a small Tudor Lodge on his estate as he wished to divide the land and sell the this lodge. I was asked to produce the entire ELEVATION 1 design under a detailed brief from my superior. The area is under strict conservation policies and therefore the design of the lodge had to be authentic in response to the surrounding architecture. I produced all the drawings as well as the Pre Application document that was submitted.

Open Architecture was asked by Chapel Down, the winery and brewery, to design a new contemporary barn to house their new restaurant, bar wedding function room above. This is the starting phase of a series of developments that Chapel down wish to undertake. My involvement of this project was primarily the visuals and construction of the 3D model which was used to inform the design. I also aided in the production of CAD drawings. All the work I produced was used on the presentation to the board members of Chapel Down. They were pleased with our work and we are currently awaiting their permission to progress with the planning application. 20.80
