VERTICAL UNIT : LIVE / WORK HOUSING FALL 2016 CRIT : CHEYNE OWENS
EXPLORATION OF DECOUPLED AND LIVE/ WORK CONDITIONS THROUGH A VERTICAL UNIT AGGREGATION AND IT’S RELATIONSHIP TO HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL CIRCULATION. USING A SINGLE UNIT MODULE IN A WAY THAT TRANSFORMS AND MULTIPLIES TO ACCOMODATE VARIOUS WORKING CONDITIONS THAT CAN BE USED FOR A SINGLE WORKER, SHARED WORKSPACES, AND SMALL SCALED PRIVATE COMPANIES.

FUTURE TYPOLOGY: LIVE, WORK, LEISURE FALL 2018 CRIT : ALESSANDRO ORSINI
EXPLORATION OF A TYPOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK MODEL FOR THE FUTURE OF AN UN-DOMESTIC PROGRAMMATIC DISPLAY IN A LIVE, WORK, AND LEISURE SETTING THROUGH A SYSTEMATIC HIERACHICAL AGGREGATION OF OFFEST SURFACES. A CONDITION WHERE SPACES ARE DEFINED BY THE OBJECTS THAT ARE WITHIN IT RATHER THAN THE “FURNITURE” ALLOWING THE SPACE TO CHANGE PROGRAMMATICALLY OVER TIME BASED ON HOW THE USER(S) OCCUPY THESE FRAMEWORKS. THROUGH THESE 35cm OFFESTS, IT BLURS THE LINES BETWEEN VERTICAL CIRCULATION, SEATING, AND STORAGE.

HARRISON HEALTH CLINIC SPRING 2017 CRIT : MARCELO LOPEZ DINARDI
THE HEALTH CLINIC WITH THE ACCOMMODATION OF AN OUTDOOR PLAZA OF VARIOUS KIOSKS, AIMS TO CREATE ITS OWN CONTEXT WHILE STILL BEING INVOLVED BY COMPLEMENTING THE EXISTING PROGRAMS THAT ALREADY GO ON WITHIN THE SITE. STRUCTUALLY, THE SYSTEMATIC APPROACH IS TO CREATE TEN BY TWENTY FOOT SPACES WITH STEEL COLUMNS PLACED AT EACH CORNER AND THE WALLS IS WHAT BECOMES THE BUILD UP IN MANIPULATING THE SPACES. THE AGGREGATION OF STACKING LAYER BY LAYER. MATERIALISTICALLY, DIFFERENT THICKNESS OF WOOD, LUMBER, AND PLYWOOD ARE STACKED WHILE BEING PROJECTED OUT OF THE WALL AS A STATIC SPACE THAT DESCRIBES DIFFERENT SCENARIOS.

ADAPTIVE RE-USE 240 MLK FALL 2016 CRIT : CHEYNE OWENS
WHAT USED TO BE AN OLD ABANDONED WAREHOUSE LOCATED IN NEWARK, NJ, HAS BEEN REDEVELOPED INTO MIXED-USE SPACES THAT ACCOMODATES LIVING UNITS, OPENAIRED PUBLIC SPACES, AND A MUSEUM THAT DISPLAYS HISTORICAL REMNANTS OF THE CITY AS WELL AS WORKS FROM ARTISTS AROUND THE AREA. FOLLOWING THE EXISTING COLUMN GRID, THE NEW STRUCTURE AND ADDITION TO THE EXISTING STRUCTURE IS WHAT MANIFESTES BOTH ON THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR. THIS PROJECT SERVES TO CATER AND ENGAGE WITH THE PUBLIC THROUGH IT’S VARIETY OF SPACES.

CRIT - DAVID BROTHERS 2019 (IN - PROGRESS)
OBJECT PROTOTYPE DEVELOPED THROUGH MY “FURNITURE DESIGN” ELECTIVE. THE MAIN OBJECTIVES ARE TO CREATING A SEAT AND A BACKREST WHILE EXPLORING WOODEN JOINERY METHODS.
40
TOTE BAG ITERATION - 02 INDEPENDENT 2016
FOCUS OF THIS PROJECT WAS TO CELEBRATE THE STORAGE OF A WATER BOTTLE CONTAINER. MATERIAL IS A WATER REPELLENT POLYESTER FABRIC AND THE OVERALL DESIGN USES ONE SHOULDER STRAP.
41
SHIRT ITERATION - 07 INDEPENDENT 2018
REPURPOSING AN EXISTING GARMENT FRAMEWORK BY ALTERING IT TO DESIRED LENGTHS WHILE USING THE EXCESS FABRIC FOR OFFSET POCKETS AS AN EXPERIMENT THROUGH AN OVERSIZED LOOK.
42
GARMENT ITERATION - 01 CRIT - KIEL MEAD 2017
REPURPOSING SECONDHAND DENIM GARMENTS AND USING A PATCHWORK METHOD INSPIRED BY JAPANESE WORKWEAR.
43
TOTE BAG ITERATION - 04 INDEPENDENT 2019
THIS ITERATION INCORPORATES MORE STORAGE FOR THE OBJECTS THAT I CARRY ON A DAILY BASIS WHILE USING ONLY ONE MATERIAL JUST LIKE THE PREVIOUS ITERATIONS.
44
OBJECT RETROFIT CRIT - KIEL MEAD 2017
OBJECTIVE WAS TO CREATE A WAY THAT A SELECTION OF WRITING UTENSILS COULD BE TRANSPORTED WITH A SKETCHBOOK TOGETHER WHILE TRAVELING.
45
WOOD + WIRE MESH CRIT - DAVID BROTHERS 2019
A COMBINATION OF GERRIT RIETVELD’S “RED/BLUE CHAIR” (1917) AND SHIRO KURAMATA’S “HOW HIGH THE MOON” (1986) THAT EXPLORES TWO DIFFERENT SCALES OF TRANSPARENCIES COMPOSED INTO AN AIRY AND “WEIGHTLESS” VOLUME.
