ENGAGEMENT SESSION Best Start Times
WINTER Dec-Mar 9-11am, 3-5pm
During December through MidMarch you can plan on your session taking place around 9-11am or 3-5pm. However, the time changes in MidMarch and so that will make the start time one hour later.
SPRING Ap r -May - Va r i es
The sunset time drastically changes throughout the course of these two months and so our shooting times change as well. You can plan on approximately 8-10am & 4-6pm in April and 7-10am & 5-8pm in May.
SUMMER Jun-Aug 6-9:30am, 6-8pm
Summer engagements are best right at sunrise or two hours before sunset. This will hopefully mean that the shoot will be during the cooler part of the day.
FALL S e pt-No v - Va r i es The sunset time changes drastically during these three months. In Sept, you can plan on 7-10, 5-7:30 until the third week and then you can plan on 7-10, 5:00-7:00 until MidOct. After the first week of Nov, 8-10, 3:00-5:00pm.
LOGISTICS:
- I generally prefer to photograph engagement sessions on weekday evenings since my weekends are dedicated to photographing weddings! Saturday & Sunday mornings and Sunday afternoon/evenings are also available.
- I love shooting at gorgeous locations. I recommend two locations max for engagements. A general rule of thumb is the more locations and outfits, the less images, but the more variety you’ll have!
- Choose a time that not only fits your schedule, but your desired aesthetic. Sunrise shoots are more soft and romantic while afternoon/ evening shoots are more bold and fun.
- I love to travel to our shoots! However, if I’ve never been to your desired location, I may need some advice on where to park!
