REFURBISHMENT OF PIAZZA DEL GRANO, DOLO
Dolo, a small italian town of 15,000 inhabitants, located in the province of Venice, Veneto region, called architects for a competition for the rehabilitation of its most important public space: Piazza del Grano.
For its rehabilitation, the team proposed to cut the traffic and redesign the area through a metaphor that reminds those who visit Dolo the importance of the canal that they see in front of them in the history of that place, imagining that the Piazza del Grano and the contiguous street are a petrified channel, whose waters are the ground through which we walk. The benches and planters have the form of gondola and are distributed as sailing through the urban space, and creating pergolas that remember those stalls of the merchants who formerly they were placed in the same place, now serving as shade spaces for the enjoyment of the inhabitants of the town.
The history of Dolo is intimately linked to a famous canal that crosses it and that communicates the cities of Padua and Venice by water. This channel has been through the centuries a very important commercial route, generating a strong socio-cultural activity around it, to the point that we could say that Dolo would never be the same village without that channel. The Piazza del Grano is an elongated public space next to the main church of the town that opens to the canal, which is nothing other than the urban heritage of a former small river port where markets were organized with products transported by the canal and, as its name implies, the grain of the nearby crops was loaded and unloaded over there. Today Piazza del Grano has become a mere urban expansion on the side of a street quite busy by the traffic rolled next to the canal, which now replaces the old river traffic.

Urban scale solution
Chueca Metro station is not just another station in Madrid, it is the gateway to one of the neighbourhoods where you can enjoy greater freedom, tolerance and diversity throughout Europe. Chueca´s neighbourhood is undoubtedly a cosmopolitan and open urban environment, a freedom world reference. In its centre, in La Plaza de Chueca, is where the subway station is located, its most important and symbolic public space, the very heart of Chueca. The station responds at urban scale, in two different ways: as a point pertaining to the network of public transport infrastructures that move the inhabitants throughout Madrid, being a kind of public space buried; and as an object of urban furniture, the mouth of the metro itself, this being a milestone located in the middle of a small, but very representative Madrid square. Analysing the surroundings of the Chueca neighbourhood and its architectural heritage, we immediately notice that most of the buildings that make up both the square and the surrounding streets are quite similar and are shown as vertical panels perforated by ordered and repetitive rectangles, which are the windows and balconies that open the apartments to the city.
It is precisely the combination of these elements the fundamental characteristic that gives personality to the urban space of Chueca: vertical planes of building facades, painted in a range of reddish-cream colours mostly, with holes of windows and balconies very marked and ordered. The team decided to formally base our proposal on this urban characteristic that gives so much personality to the neighbourhood and especially to the Plaza de Chueca itself, where these rhythms of balconies and windows arranged on cloths of smooth facades, painted in pastel colours, are very present. The metro station is an “underground public space”. To increase the interaction between the Chueca station and the urban space above it, we decided to make a formal game and create a “link”, an architectural link element that creates an association between public spaces: the buried and the Plaza itself, repeating within the station that same formal feature that defines the urban landscape of the Chueca district, the cloths of smooth façades pierced by holes in rectangular windows.

Design concept In order to create more links between the people and its metro station we will ask to participate to the neighbours who want to be part of the final result of the new image of the station. One of the most important premises of the proposed contest is that the new design of the Chueca metro station is capable of reflecting the special social condition of this unique neighbourhood, “it will be an integrating piece that connects the suburban space with the activity of the exterior, whose essence is based on diversity and tolerance” Nowadays, the image is very important, and people constantly share photos of themselves on different social networks. We want to reflect this special quality of contemporary social reality by reproducing in our intervention real photos of neighbourhood residents, volunteering to be part of the mural that will decorate the renovated walls of the station. These photos will be printed on vinyl, which will be placed retro-lit, in the windows of our interior skyline, as if they were neighbours that look out those windows.
This design strategy will get several positive things for the metro station: - It promotes the social roots of the intervention among the neighbours, since they themselves will be the protagonists of the new image of the station, getting involved in the new design. - It generates expectation and it is a very good publicity for the intervention. - We can reflect in a very exact way the social diversity of Chueca district today, since the selected photographs will respond precisely to the different social strata of the neighbourhood. For this we propose to speak directly with sociologists and consult the statistics, so that we are able to reproduce in the most scientific way possible the social reality of the neighbourhood, reserving for each group and collective a certain number of “windows”, which then will intermingle with the rest, creating social murals very true to reality.

CASON DE LOS LOPEZ TOLEDO
The Los Lopez Mansion is a building which dates back in the sixteenth century, and had been restored in 1973 by recovering materials from other adjiacent and local buildings. As a result, the present shows us how three different cultures evolve from coexistence into merging. In the historic center of Toledo, near the Plaza de Zocodover, is this magnificent mansion, of which facades you can admire the only corner balcony of the City of Toledo, inside a beautiful hall that gives us access to the cafeteria on the same level, the restaurant on the first floor or the winery-distillery at the basement level. This building survey , reveals the dimensions ,the beauty , as well as the complexity and the unique stile of this mansion. The value of it is priceless, from a architectural point of view. The challenge of making the building survey is going throug the multiple layers of interventions of many generation from diferent cultures. Although my asigmnment was purely to mesure and draw the mansion , it is an important fist step in this project. A five star hotel will take its place in this building, maximizing the use of this magnificent pice .

OFFICE BUILDING
With a strong social and economic impact, the specific activities for office programes are important components of urban life, elements that characterize the contemporary city. At the urban image through different modalities of the deployment and integration within an urban core areas, the office buildings and business centers redefine the urban silhouette and the local identity. Initially from a predominantly mono-functional character, this programs has evolved to a complex mix of functions and complementary spaces whose association has a double role: 1. It gives users an attractive environment by way of linking the work areas and indoor public and semipublic spaces, by the high level of complexity and variety functional / spatial and by the opening to urban public spaces that helps reduce stress due to the current activities of the office; 2. It provides outdoor public space - in the contact area with indoor program - permeability, continuity and outreach through transitional spaces - indoor and outdoor - that enhance the urban image quality of the neighbourhood.

URBAN HOTEL
A transit hotel puts less emphasis on the tourism side. The main concern is the functionality and space efficiency, aesthetic component having a second role. Also, it offers the same attention to architectural unity and representativeness. The hotel is located in Iasi, Romania on Independentei Street near a traffic junction on site. The building is in direct relationship with the main street and a discreet relationship with the historic buildings located in close proximity to the site.By design elements, the hotel becomes a specific in the area where it is located, easy to recognise. KINDERGARTEN The architecture-object of the programs for preschool education , are public facilities that ease human character fomation in all its aspects , which allows to promote education for children from birth to school entry . This project is mainly intended to find the new perception of playing space that should give the opportunity for the kids to use it up to their imagination. It also needs to be an attractive shape so that it can draw the attention of kids. As a result the freeform masses come to answer all of these requirements with the curved walls that define the room create an unmeasured space where, unexpected activities always happen.

SUSTAINABLE HOUSE This project is an academic exercise that is aimed at solving a green house with aesthetic qualities going towards the ideea that the ecological houses should also be atractive. The term sustainable is thrown about quite a bit these days, but there’s more to it than adding some solar panels to the roof of an inefficient building and calling it a day. True sustainability is made up of many facets, from building materials to the use of renewable energy sources to design that strives for efficiency and harmony with the surrounding environment.
