LED Parking Garage The Element II LED luminaire is the ideal choice for efficient, worry-free parking garage lighting applications. The features and benefits of the Element II solve the lighting challenges that are unique to parking garages and other covered parking areas.
Even Illumination
The Element II T5W optics take full advantage of the consistent fixture spacing and reflective ceiling/floor surfaces in typical parking garages. This creates an evenly illuminated, safe environment for drivers and pedestrians in the parking structure.
Low Profile/Vandal Resistant
The Element II is slightly over 5 in depth. Low ceiling and vandal-prone parking garages will benefit from this size and the cast/extruded aluminum construction of the Element II.
Low Maintenance
The long-life LED components used in the Element II provide years of maintenance free operation. LED driver replacement is easy with the Element II.
Energy Savings
The Element II 48LC unit, operating at a maximum of 78 watts, will provide an even 5 foot-candle horizontal light level on the parking garage floor. Replacing 150-200 watt fixtures with the Element II will minimize the electrical costs associated with operating a parking garage facility. Additional integrated lighting control options available from Visionaire Lighting can further reduce this energy consumption factor.

CUTAWAY DETAIL Thermal Management
TESTED FOR LIFE The secret to the Element II’s advanced efficiency is superior heat reduction. To get there, we built a powerhouse of a heat sink, and designed it to make maximum use of the Venturi Effect.
Sinking the Heat – Successfully In LED luminaires, the most critical areas to cool are the junction points where the LEDs meet the circuit board. The heat sink is used to draw heat away from these points. The Element II’s extruded aluminum heat sink is substantial. With a maximized fin ratio and precisely-mapped channel distributions; thermal build-up peels away from the Element II’s junction points, allowing for cooler operation.
Hold your hand over the Element II, and feel it — that rush of air rising up through the fixture, and out the top. Engineering for this effect cools LEDs, drivers and internal components; allowing the Element II to: • Withstand higher ambient temperatures. • Withstand higher drive currents. • Achieve a low thermal resistance rating. • Extend LED life. This effect doesn’t occur with external, decorative heat sinks -- like those found in competing products. Combining heat sink technology with the Venturi Effect produces a superior, long-lasting product with increased light output.
Feel the Breeze – the Venturi Effect The Venturi Effect dictates that, with increased air flow, heat transfer rates increase exponentially, removing heat at everfaster rates.

Housing • The fixture housing is heavy-duty, extruded aluminum, with heat radiating fins. A perforated aluminum top cover protects the heat radiating fins from contaminants and directs constant air flow over them for maximum cooling. • The fixture end caps are die-cast aluminum and easily removable with captive fastners for easy access to the LED drivers which are housed within the end-caps for cool operation. • Silicone gasketing is utilized throughout the fixture for weathertight operation.
box, or to the ceiling. The housing hanger bracket allows fixture to be suspended from ceiling bracket while making wiring connection. The housing bracket then attaches to the ceiling bracket via a tool-less latch. A tamper-proof screw can then secure the bracket. Electrical Assembly • The Element II - Garage/Canopy is supplied with a choice of 350 or 530 mA high-performance LED drivers that accept 120v thru 480v, 50 Hz to 60 Hz, input. Power factor of 90%. Rated for -40 oC operations. • 10 kV surge protector supplied as standard.
Thermal Management • The Element II - Garage/Canopy provides excellent overall thermal management by maximizing the fixture’s heat sink efficiency. This enables the Element II - Garage/Canopy to withstand higher ambient temperatures and drive currents without degrading LED life. The Element II - Garage/ Canopy has a low thermal resistance rating. The heat radiating fins and perforated fixture components (see Thermal Convection Heat Management System cutaway below) create superior thermal management results. • The L test determines the point in an LEDs life when it reaches 70 percent of its 70 initial output. The Element II - Garage/Canopy series LEDs have been determined to last a minimum of 100,000 hours in 25 oC environments when driven at 350 mA. See LED Data Chart for additional test results.
