Schematic Review Advantech Design Assistance is a review service based on customer carrier board schematics for SOM module functions. This service is preventative, and helps to catch design errors before they happen. Design Assistance helps to save a lot of time and costs with regard to developing carrier boards.

General/Special Reference Design Database Advantech’s SOM unit has built up a reference design database to offer customers rapid and reliable technology choices for completing carrier board projects. Advantech’s reference design database has been verified with a variety of Advantech design projects, these mature proven technologies help reduce design risk associated with the implementation of new functions that have not already been tested.
w General Reference Design Database Default functions which are defined according to SOM-144/ SOM-ETX/ SOMExpress standards for PCI, ISA, LAN, USB, PCI Express and others.
w Special Reference Design Database Extra functions may be specified which are not already defined in the standard specifications, like: super I/O, PCMCIA, and dual Ethernet.

Value-Added Services Extra Services to Support Operation in Harsh Environments Advantech offers a complete range of services to support solutions for operation in harsh environments. In combination with extra services, like component qualifying and in-process tests during manufacturing, our valueadded services offer increased support for outdoor, military, aerospace, transportation, remote monitoring and all mission critical applications that demand top performance, when the cost of failure is too high.
Conformal Coating Service Preventing Corrosion and Moisture A conformal coating service helps to protect the PCB and components from dust, moisture, fungus, corrosion and vibration. A conformal coating can greatly minimize electromigration between metal conductors. In addition, the use of a conformal coating can protect circuits and components from direct contact that can lead to abrasions and electrical short circuits.
Glued DRAM Service Resisting Vibration and Shock These days, DRAM modules are more sensitive to contact problems than ever before; so, Advantech offers a glued DRAM service to keep memory secure in environments that are prone to shock and vibration. Related services also include soldered CPUs and onboard memory, as well as strengthened connectors designed to function in harsh environments.
Wideband Extended Temperature Testing (ETT) Solutions w Phoebus Design, for Designed-in Extreme Temperature Operation A new Advantech ETT solution is “Phoebus Design,” which involves designing a platform and pre-qualifying all onboard components to operate without failure in extreme temperature conditions.
w Phoenix Operation, for Wideband Temperature Testing Advantech’s Extended Temperature Testing (ETT) services include Phoenix Platinum, Gold and Titanium Dynamic Burn-in Testing. To begin with, most critical components used for ETT products have already passed industrial grade certification and testing from manufacturers. All three Phoenix services provide 16-hour dynamic burn-in testing.

w Custom API Service Advantech SUSI ( Secure and Unified Smart Interface) is a set of user-friendly, intelligent and integrated application programming interfaces, which speeds development time, enhances security and offers add-on value for Advantech platform users. SUSI makes Advantech’s embedded platforms easier and simpler to adopt and operate in accordance with customers’ application requirements. SUSI contains three categories of features: Control, Display and Monitoring. Control: Operate devices connected with GPIO, I2C and SMBus buses. Display: Adjust the brightness of LCD panels, or turn power on or off to display devices. Monitor: Observe system status, including voltage, temperature and fan speed, plus, operate the system Watchdog function which restarts the system if it freezes or crashes.
